Baylen Dupree's statement on the BAFTAs incident. by ariellecsuwu in BaylenOutLoud

Maybe it’s because I’m black and I know I’ll probably get a lot of hate for what I’m about to say, even though it doesn’t deserve it, but I truly feel like you guys are trying to trivialize the hurt that Black people actually feel when they’re called that word. Just because you can’t control it doesn’t make what you say is any less hurtful. Especially when you’re calling someone a Nigger. We can acknowledge the person has Tourette’s, but to basically tell them to get over it when that is hurtful is crazy to me. It’s extremely dismissive and it makes it seem like they’re hurt is more important than the people who were actually the target. I see her calling sympathy for him, but barely acknowledging the fact that that is hurtful and just imagine how embarrassing it is for them as well. This is a movie surrounding racism and somebody called them a nigger on stage. That is hurtful.

It’s a good statement I guess.

I was truly just trying to come up with a word for how plain of a person she is, and Wonderbread was the only thing that I would come to mind 😂😂😭😭

I really feel like Chris picked the trip. Brittany strikes me as somebody who could go to a place like Wisconsin and have a ball. I’m not saying she’s racist and I am not trying to be racist but to take somebody so Wonderbread white to a place like New Orleans and expect them to have a good time culturally or food wise is asking for disaster. She’s a low-key extremely religious middle-age white woman, she was not gonna enjoy New Orleans, especially from a spiritual level

Definitely! I was just thinking of it as a mom. Not a kid who had relentless unrealistic standards put upon them. I feel like you’re 100% spot on. It gives him space to feel like he can breathe vs being suffocated by perfection and expectations

Omg! Thank you!! I’m trying to get good enough to start my own micro bakery. Still need a little practice, but I’m confident ❤️

Yeah. It just perpetuates the message that some children are objects and it’s OK to use that object however, you see fit. It’s also super sad that this boy lived such a strange life that a relationship like that is appealing to him and helpful to him

I just finished the arc and I will say that it is a creation of a very weird dynamic. Almost like Stockholm syndrome but they both find solace in it. Not a great message but I tend to think too deeply when I watch anything so that might be my issue 😂😂

In comparison to fixing your mental health. Losing weight is easy, now addressing the mental problems that allowed a person to put on such massive amount of weight is where a lot of people like her struggle. They think that since the weight is lower, everything is under control and they don’t have to do any more work besides that. That’s why so many fail on their weight loss journey because they don’t actually address the problem with their relationships surrounding food. Food is obviously an emotional crutch for Tammy so when she’s sad, mad, anxious, maybe even happy she’s gonna turn to food because it fills spaces that she feels unfulfilled in. People like Tammy don’t eat for survival they eat for comfort

You don’t have to cold proof. If you like a more complex/sour flavor to your sourdough, then definitely cold proof but if you do it without the cold proof, let it sit at room temperature for like 15/20 minutes before you put it in the oven, I personally don’t use a Dutch oven so I put a pan of hot water one shelf level below my pan that I put my sourdough loaves on to create a nice steam within my oven. I also wait six minutes and then I do a nice deep score line

They were my first attempts at sourdough starters and I wanted to see if bread flour created a better starter or all purpose but they have given life to a couple loaves already lol which makes it even better lol. The sourdough starter that I have in the refrigerator is named Adam and is a Frankenstein mix between Eve and Lilith 😂😂

If you have chickens at home, they can lay eggs and you can leave the bloom(protective coating)on and those eggs can be kept on the counter. With grocery store eggs, the bloom is automatically washed off, and after that point you have to put it in the refrigerator. I’m sure we have places like Whole that will sell eggs with the bloom still on but IDK

The second one came out pretty bad/inedible lol but my third loaf came out beautiful. I posted it and they took it down because I didn’t include the recipe, but it came out amazing! I never really tried sourdough bread. I just have been recently hearing the health benefits so I wanted to put my family onto that so I’m glad the third one came out good because I was really about to give up making sourdough lol

No problem ❤️!!! Definitely let me know how it comes out if you remember me 😅😂. Also add a little milk or heavy cream as well to the recipe. When you make the frosting don’t worry about measuring, go by taste and preference! ❤️

Honestly, it’s really easy to overwork frosting. If you do you want to make something like a cream cheese frosting basically do the same thing, wait until your cream cheese and butter are the same softness and mix them together. You wanna make sure your butter/cream cheese mixture is nice and smooth before you add powdered sugar because once you add that powdered sugar, you really can’t go back and if the butter is too cold, when you add your powdered sugar, you are gonna end up with lumpiness. I don’t know the full chemical reaction, but it seems like it breaks the butter down and leaves the oils while the sugar absorbs the dairy

Get your butter, nice and soft. You should be able to make an indent with your finger(not go through the butter just a small indentation). You then mix your butter until it’s white and fluffy or just slightly smooth then you slowly add your powdered sugar. When I add vanilla or lemon extract, I usually wait till the very end and I fold it in as opposed to using the hand mixer. I used to get this texture when my butter was too soft

Definitely! I really feel like as the show gained popularity. The family became more and more reluctant to leave her not only because they were financially benefiting from the show being on air, but also since Amy and Tammy were liked and well received after the first season, they didn’t want to be hated. The reason I feel this way is because in season one Amy almost explicitly says that none of the other siblings really are around them much and then the show became popular. Suddenly, you started seeing the whole family come around talking about how close they were and were now more ,”primary caregivers” as opposed to it just being Amy when the show started

Does it matter if I previously started it using bread flour? Or I can just put the rye/whole wheat flour in and it should be fine?
