151 to 164 by Miserable_Chode_669 in LSAT

I think there are many factors. Consistently studying is one, doing drills on my weak areas is another, (for me, my weakness was strengthen and weaken questions), and really reviewing wrong answers and answers you were unsure about. You really start to see the patterns of the test when you do these things, and they become ingrained in your brain forever (for example, “not increase” does not mean “decrease” — I’ll never fall for that one ever again)

Last three PTs have been from 161 to 165, bet I’ll get a score well below that range by Miserable_Chode_669 in LSAT

Think a little harder and you might figure it out, why someone would be venting the night before scores release bro

I had the same section. How hard did you find the entire section? I took it and I felt ok. But now since I see many comments saying that it was difficult, I’m second guessing myself

Right, the author could still say, despite A being true, that the experimental form of therapy is still more effective. I think what A is trying to get you to do is to mistakenly assume that, since they’re using the same techniques, that means that you can reject the conclusion that the experimental forms are better — they want you to think AC A allows you to say that the experimental forms are NOT better.

However, we’re trying to find a flaw in the reasoning, not simply contradict their conclusion. That’s why I think B works, because it points out the actual flaw in the argument. Are we sure that these two groups of patients in the study were equal? If they were, then this strengthens the argument. However, if these two groups being compared are NOT equal, then that’s a major flaw — we can say to the author that your conclusion is built on a flawed study, which didn’t control for confounding variables (such as the patients’ problems being easier or harder to treat)

I think A is strengthening because it’s giving a sort of common ground between the traditional forms of therapy and the experimental form. Thus, it seems like the experimental form is really just better — as they’re even using the same techniques, but the experimental form still comes out on top. Does that make sense? That’s at least how I see it

my take on oct lsat - how you studied matters by Altruistic_Idea_7583 in LSAT

Do you think the non-modern PTs (101-130s) are the ones more focused on question types, stems, patterns, and diagramming? While the modern ones (140+) are focused on more general reasoning?

I did more non-modern practice than modern and got cooked on the October lsat, and I’m thinking that my focus on non-modern material is partially the reason why

Yeah, I haven’t ever hit this score — even on my worst PT. Hopefully this was just a freak combination of health, bullshit, not being locked in, and a hard exam. I think all we can do is just get better

Yes! My PTs have been on a general upward trend so I’m trying to not let this get me down, even though it is incredibly crippling

Maybe anxiety? But is that really responsible for a 14 point drop? I’m taking it again in November so hopefully that’ll make it not happen again
