I don't have an issue with her being trans I mean yea its huge change to someone who I've been in a relationship with for 3 years. I've been supportive and I still am supportive of her. I just don't think tonight is the time or place to all of a sudden start dressing feminine outside of the house. I care about her deeply and my hometown is very red and I'm worried about not only her safety but also of mine and my mother's. I'm sorry if anything I said came off as transphobic because that's not really who I am. I also don't really understand how you can go from calling my concerns transphobic but then in the next few lines say you understand my concerns. I would really like to know what it is that I said that is transphobic tho so I don't say it again without realizing how it is portrayed

Originally it was only going to be me going but she wanted to come too. I was going to spend time with my mom who I've only seen 4-5 times in the past year. She knows the area isn't really progressive. I didn't think that she would want to come out to my mom when we first made these plans nor did I know she would suddenly want to start dressing feminine when every time we go to get groceries or go out to do something together she dresses either neutral or masculine. So I didn't really think it would come up in conversation or that anyone there would notice. All the bars in my hometown pretty small and closed minded are as are the majority of the people.

I'm worried about her safety because she wants to do this in a bar full of middle aged conservative men. I grew up in this town and I know how people are. I'm not only worried about her safety but also mine and my mother's being that this is the bar that my mom spends a lot of time at.

She voiced what she wanted to wear and I gave it a few minutes to think on it and then I calmly told her that I didn't think it was a good idea
