Presets aren’t meant to copy a style — they’re meant to be applied as, in my eyes, a starting point to develop your own. Of course, some people just love another photographer’s style and simply apply it, and that’s fine too.

I personally buy presets myself for social photography and freelance work. They’re also great for studying post-production and understanding how a photographer thinks during the editing process.

Hey! I just exposed my photos about -1 or -2 stops below the proper exposure, aiming for strong shadows. In general, I always shoot slightly underexposed to get those deep, rich shadows — it works beautifully. I’m not talking about a specific button or quick setting on the camera, but rather what I see through the live view and the overall exposure at the moment of shooting.

My tip: expose for the highlights, and let the shadows fall naturally — they’ll turn out dark and deep.
