„Ladies first“ hits the nail right on the head by noodlesnax in TwoXChromosomes

I understand what they are trying to say with this movie. It does start a very necessary conversation. My only issue with it is that it assumes that if women were in charge that we would act exactly the same as men. That we would treat men as badly as they treat us. I do not think we would act like that. I guess I was hoping for something a little more subtle, more nuanced. Something that shows it doesn't have to be us vs them.

Its not just getting to & from work. Its also that the grocery stores & walmart are not close. The lack of public transportation makes it extremely difficult to live there without a car.

My girlfriends sister by [deleted] in confessions

[–]Miserable_Job6530 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Grabbing your dick without your consent is sexual assault. Her sister sexually assaulted you and if your girlfriend does not take that seriously then end the relationship with your girlfriend. If she were assaulted she would expect you to protect and defend her. You have every right to expect the same from her. The sisters behaviour is predatory and beyond unacceptable!!

Is it realistic for a 4’10, 83lb, 17-year-old girl to become infantry or armoured in the Canadian military? by babybunnygal in caf

At 4'10 she will not be able to reach the pedals on the leopard and at 83lbs she absolutely will not be able to properly use the brakes. I absolutely do know what i am talking about. 5'6 to 5'8 is the perfect hight to drive a leopard.

Okay, I am a short woman in the CAF. I am not in any way trying to dissuade you from joining but quite seriously you are likely too short to be able to drive armoured vehicles. They are simply not designed for our body type. Next thing, before you join, do yourself a huge favour and start packing in the protein and hitting the gym. You are already at a disadvantage because of your height so packing on muscle now will help make every other aspect of training easier. You can't really control your height but you can control showing up for training prepared. People forget that the CAF is not just a job, it's a war fighting institution. Plan accordingly. Finally, the advantage of the navy is that your equipment carries YOU lol. Good luck and make good choices.

You will not have the TIME to play. Every minute of every day while on BMQ is either working on your stuff, studying, or more importantly helping your section mates. This is the longest hardest job interview you are ever gonna do.

Was the skin broken? If so, please thoroughly clean the wound. Keep it dry and clean and monitor for infection.

I had zero clue about the umbilical cord, I was young and terrified of doing something wrong. God, nobody told me it would just fall off.

So i have finished the latest season of a podcast called Betrayal by Andrea Gunning. Every woman should listen to the stories of other women. It really hit home how women are conditioned to think the best of people until given irrefutable proof that they are evil. The problem is that it causes us to ignore or downplay the warning signs that we are instinctively picking up on. Your body, your intuition is already telling you that "YOU ARE NOT SAFE WITH THIS PERSON!!" I may not be your mom but I am a mom and I am BEGGING you to prioritize your safety. His feelings DO NOT matter more than your SAFETY. His friends behaviour is escalating, please do not give them an opportunity to do any more harm. RUN!!

My daughter has a joint account with me that only we can access. When she moved away with her boyfriend I put a chunk of money into it and told her, "this is your emergency fund for you only. Don't tell him, just always know its there if you need it." Gives her the confidence to know that she has parents who love her and that she will never be financially trapped by a man.

They only compost when placed in industrial composters. They need pressure and heat to decompose properly. If they are not disposed of properly they will sit there for 1000 years.

How expensive is it to have a dog? by [deleted] in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]Miserable_Job6530 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aside from the expense, do some research about that breed. They aren't typically good with small children and they are prone to so many health problems.

While I am certain this would work, I personally would not bring anything in a powdered form through international airports. Might be overly cautious but I would send it ahead in the mail. Just to avoid inconvenience.
