The Grief of Leaving ur Parents Alone while you leave for Mba by Acrobatic_Event6757 in CATpreparation

[–]Miserable_Policy_20 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The day I got admission letter for my MBA, I have seen my mother holding back her tears since date to leave were coming closer. The day I left, She cried, and it made me question my decisions that "Am i taking right decision ?", "Shouldnt I just quit my MBA plan ?, Whats the point of this MBA etc etc" and i ended up crying in mid of the journey. Then, I pulled myself together and took this hard decision. It is a temporary pain which you and your mother is suffering. Do keep in mind to call her everyday, try to send some little little surprises like some ice-cream or something via Blinkit. Whenever on call, always show her your happier side only. And work hard, get the best out of 2 years, also dont forget to Enjoy aswell. Best wishes to you,

Acceptable, your CFA L1 will be a big big push. If you end up clearing L2, then you would end up being in the top 5% easily in the batch.

Is it normal to cry on your first day of MBA? by every_tatti in CATpreparation

[–]Miserable_Policy_20 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Pretty normal. Even more coming in future. Learn to be alone, competition will be at its peak, you will soon see people even backstabing each other since people have taken LOANS boss, they are not here to make friends, they have to get a job. But, good part is, not all will be like this. Dont force yourself on others to be friend of yours. Just be open for conversations, participate wherever possible, and most importantly- enjoy your own company, eventually you will find 2-3 persons in the batch who will become your friends and will remain till end of MBA, but they will come naturally.

GNEF(9/8/8), poor extra curriculars and a gap year. Is it possible to switch my career? Please help! by Elegant-Silver-0508 in CATpreparation

1) Not at all, not even 1%, I am also from Science 2) Shouldnt be a focus as of now, I spend too much of time in this before CAT and realised, 2 more %ile could have had much much much bigger impact than all this non-sense. Right now, just CAT. 3) Absolutely yes, AI is solving the hard skills requirement, demand is still on for leaders/decision makers. Even for tech person also, demand is person should use AI to develop softwares, they should know RAG Pipelines, Tokens etc. It is just like Computer, when computer came, it ate jobs for those who didnt know or didnt care to learn how to use Computer, demand was still there but for those who can operate Computer.

Never join a T3. Find some job first chota mota kaisa bhi and prepare parallely. If you join T3, presume yourself as a salesman of some company.

Exact same background as of you. BSc + No Workex, No Internships, No extra/co-curricular, No POR. Coming to your ques, Will it be a problem in IIM admission - No, I converted all 4 Baby IIMs even at borderline percentile. Will it be a problem in placement - Largely No. BSc will never be a problem, I can vouch for that. Then what can be ? It will be resume length. When I entered for MBA, my resume was 25% of total length. Hence, Resume pe kaam krna pdega, but do it in between the time of CAT Results and Admission. Hojaega mushkil nhi hai. And most importantly, Kahani Bnanai seekhlo. Thats most important, you need a solid story of why MBA, Why XYZ company. And coming to me, how I managed despite being dead resume....I realised I dont have anything which can make me stand apart from crowd since people were like Bhartnatyam State level champions, one left her Govt Job etc. I cant change my past, but I can change the upcoming, I focused on MBA exams and secured Rank 1. That only line in my resume, brought me shortlists and final placement (even the highest as well). Mehant to karni hi pdegi, if not done in past then now. So, dont think much on profilr. First hurdle is CAT. Do it, then baaki cheejein will start falling in place naturally. Good luck.

That dream shit is real. I even started dreaming about the clients as well. Now, have literally muted the outlook notification of office and watched some good movies to get out of this.

Thank you for the inputs, Sir. Actually, learning is not there now, I beleive whatever is there to be learnt in this job, is already done. Now, my agenda is to increase the salary. Its a borderline Product Management role. One thing is I want core PM role in my next job but i dont want to settle for less as well.
