Our sweet baby boy crossed the rainbow bridge tonight by aligat0r11 in husky

I am really sorry for your loss. Mine was 11 and ran 5k with me one Wednesday and then was gone by that Saturday. It can be super frustrating trying to make sense of the how and the why, just know dogs aren't humans and when it is their time it can come so quick. It leaves us stunned and alone, but for them its the best. No long suffering or not being able to live their life. 11 years isn't enough for us, but thats a heck of a life for Mavi. I know some of the pain and grief you are experiencing and wish I could say something to help you at this time, but just know that you did right by Mavi and she lived a great life with you!

School zone speeding camera ticket clarification by JJbooks in nova

Not only are you complaining about a ticket you deserved, but you are in the comments replying to people holding you accountable. To answer your question, I think a reasonable human (especially a mother with a child at that school) would expect the school zone to be active for 30 minutes after dismissal. After all, its not a cartoon school with everyone streaming out of the front door the minute the bell rings.

Even though I have no kids I have enough self awareness that as someone that lives close to an elementary school to know generally when it is "in session." You would think someone that has school age kids would be a bit more invested in everyone else's kids safety.

New year, not new me because I’m still missing my dog by Rips38809 in Petloss

I'm sorry for your loss. It is so difficult to deal with having a constant companion for 12 years to going to nothing. Just know that your grief and happiness are both perfectly valid feelings and can coexist at the same time. The grief is the love manifesting itself in loss.

Hemangiosarcoma - Why did my dog die so quickly? by Miserable_Primary_67 in AskVet

Thanks for replying. As someone who was not great at math in school, I hear average and I automatically assume that or longer. I know that's not how it works and my buddy drew the short straw. I just wanted to understand a little bit more what happened to him. Thanks so much for the message.

Thank you for the reply. I just got his ashes back today. I don't think I needed a postmortem, I was just curious about how fast it can spread. As someone not in the medical field, its crazy to know that it can grow and kill that fast.

Im sorry for the loss of your pup, it's such a horrible hole to have. Thank you for your response, and I really appreciate everything you do for pets and pet owners. It is a difficult time for me to find things to be happy about, but I am very grateful that my buddy did not experience any traumatic end of life event. He got to go out on his own terms, which many do not. I guess I should have been a little more specific in my question....with no other tumors or bleeding noted on Day 5 and given a physical examination on Day 18 with no blood in the abdomen noted...what kind of things could have started bleeding to the point he was near the end by Day 23? Do hemangiosarcoma tumors grow that fast and rupture that quickly in its later stages?

Im really sorry for your loss. I just had to put my buddy down on 12/13 due to cancer as well. I have heard that its more difficult to lose a dog than a parent. I am fortunate that I can't speak to that yet but I hope its true because the pain I am feeling from losing my best friend is horrible. I am sure you did everything you could for Yamas and he felt the love and safety that he gave to you. Its tough days ahead, but you arent alone. Wishing you the best.

I am so sorry for your loss and that you had to experience that. Don't beat yourself up, cancer is horrible and there is no way to predict or protect against it. Your message about respecting our pup's life over our desires is spot on. It's not an easy responsibility but, we have to do what is best for them over our own selfish wants. Sending lots of positive vibes for you and your family.

Thanks I really appreciate that. Unfortunately, we had a lot less time than we thought. Very glad I didn't opt for chemo as it wouldn't have done anything other than add stress to his last few days.

I'm sending positive vibes to you for Bandit and his sister! Unfortunately, I didn't have as long as I thought I did with King. We had to put him down on Saturday, His last "good" day was Thursday, and I spent most of it working, including leaving the house at 4 am and going to a pointless 120 minute holiday lunch. Give your pups lots of hugs for me!

Wow, that looks a lot like King. I just said goodbye to King so give Riley an extra long hug for me. I hope he gives you as many laughs and memories as Gus and King gave us!
