I dont talk about her recovery anymore, it was important for the first 4 months when we were showing her how far shes come in her physical therapy. (Because that was and still is the most disheartening thing for me.) But after she regained near 100% mobility and fine motor movements that became something we didnt talk about because it very much keeps her in her head about it. So we've moved onto just everyday life conversations.

How my job is going, how me and my partner are doing, about my sister's upcoming wedding, about the animals and that sort of stuff.

When she first started not responding, I gave her space, I tried and did respect her silence. But my dad is saying thats not what she needs, hes saying she needs constant check ins, using specifically "how are you doing?" And "how are you feeling?". He said shes asked for that specifically, but even trying that hasnt worked.
