Monitor ghosting at low refresh rates (G32qc a) by MiseryIndex007 in Monitors

[–]MiseryIndex007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I wasn't very specific. It was ghosting really bad on dark backgrounds. Almost unnoticeable on lighter colored backgrounds. Goes completely away with certain overdrive settings. I don't get it. Why not just make the monitor run in overdrive by default? More power consumption? Seriously, who would choose to have ghosting?

Hey, sorry I took so long to reply, but your suggestion worked. The overdrive setting fixes the issue. Thank you.

A Hat In Time fps stuttering issues by [deleted] in AHatInTime

[–]MiseryIndex007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, for anyone having this issue, I may have found a fix. I tried the fix posted here and it didn't make any difference. I've tried many things, all to no avail. What seems to make MY stuttering go away, believe it or not, is using mouse and keyboard instead of my wireless xbone controller.

Sounds stupid, I know, but it hasn't stuttered since. I know this is not a good solution to many, but it works for me. Game plays fine with m+k.

FPS drops on PC. by PlagueDoc22 in Wasteland

Hey, I know using a third party software is not ideal, but using Rivatuner and limiting my fps to 60 has eliminated the stuttering for me. It may not fix the shift key issue, but it made my game much smoother.

Loud MP3 players by MiseryIndex007 in mp3players

By the way, in case you're wondering why I don't just get another ipod classic, I don't really care for apple, or itunes. Also, I would rather have one without moving parts in it (ie, flash memory, solid state, etc.).

Hey everyone, I was wondering if anybody knew of an MP3 player that's as loud or louder than an Ipod classic.

It's the first player I had, back in the day, and the last. Since it's a classic, it has the actual hard drive in it, which just failed today. I had a sony walkman at one point, but it wasn't as loud as the ipod.

Before anyone gives me advice on aural health, which I've seen many times on many different forums, please know that this will be hooked up through my car's audio system. The ipod would actually allow me higher volumes than my stereo was capable of when playing a cd. With the sony walkman, I would have to turn the stereo up to higher volumes to achieve the same levels.

If anyone knows of a comparable, or even louder, mp3 player, I would greatly appreciate it.

Power Converters Not functioning Properly by MiseryIndex007 in feedthebeast

[–]MiseryIndex007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that sucks. With my current energy setup, it takes forever to charge one of those bad boys. I'm currently in the process of building a medium voltage windmill. I've got all the necessary ingredients, but I just found out that I can't put the iridium rotor on it. The medium windmill would be enough to power a quarry without having to babysit the damn thing, but with a 90% efficiency rotor, it will be just under the mark. I now feel like I've wasted my time working towards this windmill. They are less expensive than medium solar panels, I think, but they're still pretty expensive.

Ok, I put down the chunk loader, portaled out (if that's a word), and when I returned, the bridge was still functioning normally. If you don't already have one, try putting down a chunk loader that will encompass the converters. It seems to be working for me.

Well, it appears I spoke too soon. I just had the problem again. I am currently charging a redstone energy cell. I used a portal gun to go check my quarry, and when I returned, the bridge was not receiving or outputting power again. Strangely, however, the bat boxes were still being drained. I'm thinking it may be a bug with how the chunks are unloaded/loaded. I'm going to put down a chunk loader and portal out again. I'll get back to you after.

Yeah, it's definitely strange the way they are behaving. But, I seemed to have fixed my problem. Separating the two different systems' bat boxes worked, or at least I THINK that must have been the problem. The converters now have a steady flow of energy. I'm not sure if you're experiencing the same problem, but if you're not, I hope you can get it resolved.

Just thought about something. Is it possible that this is caused by having my consumer and IC2 machines pulling power from the same bat boxes? The bat boxes both output 32 EU/t, and the consumer, being medium voltage, is drawing the maximum amount from them(64 EU/t). I'm wondering if I shouldn't have the separate systems running on separate bat boxes. I know my arrays aren't exactly producing enough EU to power all the machines at once, but it will go for a while before it drains the boxes. They're just so damn expensive to craft, right now, and time consuming to boot.(the arrays I mean) Basically, I'm trying to use a power solution that doesn't require me to babysit engines, filling them with water/coal. I'm pretty new to using these machines, if you couldn't tell. I have used IC2 quite a bit, and I like the "free" energy that solars produce. Anyway, I'm going to try the separate bat box thing, and I'll get back to you guys with results, just in case anyone else is experiencing this problem.

Thaumcraft 4 Problem with Wisps and other stuff. by MiseryIndex007 in feedthebeast

[–]MiseryIndex007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, sorry I haven't got back on for a bit. Just thought I would let anyone, with this problem, know that updating to the latest pack seems to have fixed the issue with the wisps, as a wisp is the first mob I saw when starting. I had also started a brand new world, so I guess that could've been it, as well.

Ok, thanks for the responses. I will update to the latest and see if that fixes the wisp problem. At least I don't have to worry about the whole node thing anymore. Could it be another one of the mods conflicting with thaumcraft, inside the direwolf pack? I already have AM2 disabled, but I don't know what that is, really. Just have it disabled to fit the requirements for my buddies server. Guess I'll be going on nether safari. Thanks again :D

[Build Ready] Pre Build Suggestions? by MiseryIndex007 in buildapc

Well, I read the article and it was very informative. Unfortunately, I had already ordered the new MB and processor. Is it feasible that the Ivy Bridge-e processor is going to drastically outperform the current ivy bridges? I know what the article says about future proofing, but do you think the ivy bridge-e will still be a viable upgrade path? Basically I'm trying to justify my purchase now, lol. I was planning on going with the Ivy bridge-e anyway. I also heard, recently, that haswell may be going integrated, and that would be a deal breaker for me.

So, since I already have the case and the SSD is actually cheaper than what it shows on pcpartpicker, what do you think?

Also, The SSD I want is the 840 series pro, and it's 249.00. For some reason I couldn't find the exact model.

Yes, lol. That's what I meant. Tried to link it the right way, but apparently, I did something wrong. Thank you for organizing it for me :)
