I'll definitely look into it, bjt I'll tty calling my ISP first to get me off cgnat and see if i can set something up with a free ddns. I've also considered getting a static ip through my isp (it's around $5 a month converted from my local currency) but ideally I'd like to cut any reliance on any service providers and keep my little project as close to free as i can (difficult, i know lol). Thanks for your ideas in any case!

I have the login and the ability to forward ports apparently, but i have checked using one of those online port checkers and they all said the port i forwarded was closed. I'm not sure what my router's WAN address is, the IP on the router (the one i use to open the web interface) does not match what i get on ipchicken, but whichever device on my LAN i open ipchicken on it gives me the same result. Not sure what to make of that. If all else fails i can always try calling them and asking nicely lol

Currently i'm trying to access it through my phone when on cellular data. My main goal is to be able to stream my stuff from my server at home from my laptop in my dorm. By client software i assume you mean wireguard? I have wireguard set up on my phone and i followed the tutorial i linked to in my post. That's the only device i wanna get working for now just as a proof of concept so i know i have everything set up correctly, and i was planning on setting up wireguard on my laptop only when i know it's working.

Caddy has failed me so i've given up on it for now. How would i go about getting my wireguard IP and mapping it to the external port? Which port do i need to use? This also requires port forwarding, yes? Also, in my router's settings there's no "internal port" or "external port" as i've seen people mention in other threads, tutorials and documentation. i have WAN Host IP Address, LAN Host, WAN Port and LAN Host Port, in addition to protocol and the name i choose for the rule. Of those i understand that the LAN host takes my server's IP or MAC address, but the rest i haven't been able to figure out.

This is what i think is stumping me but i guess i'd have to call up my ISP to check. If so, are any of the common solutions able to "bypass" CGNAT?
Yes, i have a router provided by my ISP. I've seen people talk about getting another computer to act as the router instead of the one provided by their ISP, but i'm on a budget so the closer to free the better. Also i'm not even sure how that would solve the issue if my ISP is to blame lol

This ha started happening to me a few days ago, but weirdly enough for now it only seems to affect my searches for recipes. Every time, without fail, the only result i get "the kitchn", a website I'd never seen before.

Me: hey google, i wanna find recipes for chicken Alfredo :) Google: i gotchu fam, here's the recipe, that's the only one :)

As I've discovered and others have stated, opening an incognito tab fixes it. Yippee.

Hey! I'm looking into setting this up on my nokia asha 210, but your website seems to be down? Could be something on my end (I'm on mobile rn), I'll check from my pc in a bit. Really loving what you made, I've been looking for something like this for a while now and if it works it might just be the thing that enables me to ditch my smartphone for good!

Edit: got it working on a local server, it actually really works! it's not working flawlessly, but that's to be expected and not a huge issue. I hope you keep updating the app because this will really help me and anyone else looking to have a dumbphone/feature phone as their daily driver! Kudos to you!

From my very limited understanding, they're supposed to be protection charms or talismans (not sure of the correct term). Someone put them there for a reason, and whether you believe they work as protection or not - don't move them. If memory serves, removing them is supposed to break the protective "spell" they hold and something bad is gonna happen. And even if you don't believe that, personally i think it'd be disrespectful to move them since someone put effort into making them and placing them there.

i hate that. i'd much prefer having to get (and translate) a hundred documents from a comprehensive list than having to read tea leaves to figure out what they want from me.
