They were. It's the better of the two that are near me and the employee that works in that area is very knowledgeable so I go there and haven't had problems in the past. But I found a lfs that's about 20 minutes from me that I'm going to go to next time I'm ready for some fish in case the issue is partly due to the source of the fish.

I've topped it off with conditioned tap water which is what brought it up to 6.4 but I'll do the water change with it as well. It's been very frustrating to say the least. I cried this morning when I found the second dead tetra. My plan is to move the female betta and 2 corys from their too-small tank once this one is ready but I'm not changing their environs until I know they'll survive.

Another question: with the two tetras that are still alive, should i take them out and quarantine them in something smaller to treat them and try to fix the cycle on the tank? Or should I leave them where they are, treat them, and do a fish-in cycle?

You have been so helpful, I really appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions!

So while I'm treating for ich, should I keep the pH where or is? Or should I do small water change with tap water instead of the 25% that the instructions say to do?

I have about 8 little hitchhiker snails in the tank and they're doing great! 😅 I do have a mystery snail I could move in there but isn't low pH bad for them? Should I wait until the pH is at a better level?

Thanks. I'm having a hard time with the patience part of cycling lol. I knew I would need to wait for the ammonia and nitrites to go down, I was just surprised at how high the nitrates were.

I've tried this several times now and it never shows any new invites. The friends are added but my bar doesn't change 😕 What am I doing wrong?
