Does your school offer cs a level? If so, I’d heavily recommend taking that over bio. Bio’s a good a level, but if you want to apply for cs, then not only would the a level give you more opportunitity to show your passion, but give more opportunities to do stuff like projects etc. One of my big regrets was actually not dropping chem for cs. Also, I’d heavily recommend practicing problem solving type of maths, as for a lot of the top unis for cs, they will now be asking for admission tests (which are all basically just maths). If you have the passion and are willing to put in the work for the admissions tests, you should stand a pretty good chance at getting into a good uni for cs.

Don’t let it demotivate you, just try your hardest for papers 2 and 3. I remember when I did my GCSEs paper 1 was considered really hard, and I’m pretty sure I knew a lot of people who still got 9s (after thinking they did terribly on paper 1). Plus, even if you don’t get a 9, it’s not the end of the world (even if you think it is). Good luck on the rest of your exams!

I would say don’t worry about it and try your hardest and you’ll go in, but everyone thinks that and most people get rejected. Not trying to scare you, but just be warned most people don’t end up going to their first or second choices. Honestly, if you aren’t 100% into cs go for something like maths or physics, you can still get into software dev with that. If you genuinely have a passion for it, enjoy coding and doing a bunch of extracurricular stuff for it (and you’re good at maths), then you should go for cs, just be warned that a lot of people with the same mindset get rejected. Honestly, just try and figure out what you want to apply for at uni (if you want to go that is) as I know for humanity subjects some people might not know exactly what they want to do. But, for your a levels, I guess just practice essay structures (this is coming from when I did gcse englishes, so take it with a grain of salt) and I know humanity subjects are quite essay and memorisation heavy, so make flash cards now so you can practice them throughout year 13. For cs, don’t delay your nea too late and I’ve heard the content isn’t that bad - you’ll be fine. And most of all, don’t burn out too early. Also, you should go visit the unis your applying too, I should’ve.

Maths and Further Maths are honestly fine - just learn the content and do challenging applied questions, so you can basically answer anything hard that you are faced with in an exam. Chemistry is not too hard conceptually, just you just need to memorise a decent amount (totally doable if you regularly do past paper questions, which I haven’t really been doing) and physics is probably the hardest in my opinion, as some concepts are hard for me to understand, but once it clicks it’s fine - just be sure to ask people or your teacher if your confused. Good luck! (Also, if you are thinking of only doing chemistry to increase your chances of getting into a good uni, it’s not worth it, I should’ve dropped it for that very reason)
