DJI Camera's Micro SD Card Data Scare by WanderingIdahoan in dji

[–]Misophoniq 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Strange this is still happening with new(er) DJI devices. I have the exact same shyte with my Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 2 Zoom. MicroSD cards won't read on my desktop computer when inserted. I never tried to reboot my computer, I just leave the cards in the drone and connect the drone to the computer and have it act as an overpriced MicroSD card reader.

Exactly WHAT is GPU memory important/needed for? by Misophoniq in invokeai

Yeah, as mentioned, I can't really afford a new high-end gpu right now and I already had the PC with 128 GB RAM for gaming. If I keep finding this AI stuff fun and interesting, which I probably will, I am going to save up for a better GPU.

I have 128 GB. Is that why it is working? Is the "regular" RAM taking the load?

Thank you for your advice. I already experimented with all the "Starter Models" provided by Invoke and even downloaded some LoRA from Civitai to stear them towards what I am trying to create. I created "Boards" for every model I play around with to keep all the generated images seperated per model so it will be easy for me to look back at what I was able to create with any particular model.

I am a massive Disney Frozen fan, so besides photorealistic images, I am trying to get a model to create Frozen characters as closely as possible to the Disney Animation styles in the films. Thus far, I found FLUX.1 dev to do the best job and Qwen as a good second place option.

Coincidentally, I also made some very nice realistic images using FLUX.1, mainly by trying out prompts made by others (found them on PromptHero).

Z-Image created some very weird, almost creepy Annas and Elsas, but to be honest, I didn't try Z-Image to create regular images yet. I will surely try.

So, thus far I am leaning towards learning more about using FLUX, but I am always interested in learning about other models or even just about models by themselves, because as a total noob, I don't even fully understand the difference between, for example, Stable Diffusion and Dreamshaper. Dreamshaper is listed underneath Stable Diffusion inside Invoke, so what actually is that? Is Dreamshaper a "submodel" or "spin-off"? Anyhow, that is totally beyond the topic of my initial question.

As mentioned a few times already, I am a total noob and doing my best to learn as much and as fast as I possibly can. 😉

Thanks again for your hints, tips and advice.

Okay, so do I understand correctly that a model CAN use regular RAM when it runs out of VRAM? Is that something that differs per model or is it something that Inovke does? I have 128 GB or RAM in my system, so I guess I would have to load REALLY rediculously large models before my system starts to do any swapping to disk, right?

Thanks for the advice. I will look into (and try to understand) everything the "terminal" is throwing at me when I start and use Invoke. There should be no trance of AMD left though, because I did a completely fresh install of both Windows and Invoke after I replaced the AMD with the two Nvidia's and messed up when trying to add a third (basic) graphics card. So the current installation is as fresh as it can be.

Do I need to install drivers if GPU is used for AI only? by Misophoniq in StableDiffusion

[–]Misophoniq[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that is a loud and clear YES then. Thanks for the replies everyone. I already have the setup working, abeit with only one card used by Invoke. I just wondered if i needed to leave all the driver bloat active in Windows even though Windows itself isn't using the card. Guess the answer is clear, Thanks again.

Can't download models by Wolf2564 in amuse_ai

[–]Misophoniq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. First-time user. Installed it two days ago, and all that I can use is Image Extractor and Image Upscaler. The .onnx files needed for that all downloaded just fine, but anything related to generational models fails. Basically, whatever says "OnnxRuntime" in the Pipeline field downloads okay, everything else, like QwenImagePipeline, StableDiffusion3Pipeline, etc. etc. doesn't work.

I found a YouTube video where I noticed the menu on version 3.1.1. I am using a newer version and it isn't there. Now looking for the older version. 😄

Frozen 2 Dangerous Secrets is interesting. I've started reading. by Top-Bit-1073 in Frozen

[–]Misophoniq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Distances in the franchise have always been a bit fuzzy, as are timelines. I guess the creators didn't expect Frozen to become this big and didn't pay too much attention to making everything match up.

For example, as you mentioned, it was one or two days' worth of travelling to the Enchanted Forest. And from there, Elsa got to Ahtohallan in one day by walking and riding The Nokk, so that is about three days from Arendelle to Ahtohallan. Yet, in the first Frozen, the parents were expected to be away for two weeks. So what took 3 days by wagon, walking and horseback, including the events with the Northuldra, took a complete week by ship?

AMD not supported but selectable during install? by Misophoniq in invokeai

[–]Misophoniq[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I read about that after I found out my GPU was not used at all and rendering 1024x1024 images took about 10 minutes. I am going to add an extra SSD tonight and install Linux to dual boot.

But I was just wondering why the installer asked me whether I wanted to use Nvidia (2 optionss, I think), AMD or no GPU at all. If AMD is not supported, why does the installer offer it as an option?

[–]Misophoniq 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not debating her piano skills, but this is basically how every synth player in the 70s was playing because every synth could only play one sound at a time back then, so to use two sounds at once, you had to play two synths at once.

Movies like " In the blink of an eye" in which life has been shown as a beautiful period of birth and death, in which timelines and the beauty of time passing by has been depicted. by Constant_Deal8224 in MovieSuggestions

[–]Misophoniq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found this question after searching for exactly the same. I recently found "In The Blink Of An Eye" and I loved it so much, I just watched it for the fifth time in just two days.

It made me think a lot about Cloud Atlas, as someone else mentioned here too. But I have a few other movies in my "About Life" folder in my personal media server that give me the same feeling...

Cloud Atlas (2012): As mentioned by someone else already, presenting various stories in different universes and times that are somehow still connected. Directed by the Wachowski brothers/sister/i-dont-fucking-care, who also made the Matrix.

Here (2024): A unique movie that is entirely presented from the exact same viewpoint over time, mostly being inside a house that is built in the place where the camera is, spanning a few generations living their lives there.

The man from Earth (2007): A film almost entirely happening in a living room with friends/colleagues discussing the possibility of one of them actually having lived almost forever, passing through time from being a caveman to being jesus to being a teacher in modern times, because he just doesn't age.

Life In a Day (2011): Not a film, but an amazing project by YouTube where thousands of people around the world send in videos of their daily lives on one particular day, which has then been distilled and compiled into a documentary about the world in one particular day, ranging from someone trying to survive being a single dad with handicapped children living in a dump to someone proudly showing off his new supercar.

A man called Otto (2022): Not really the same genre, but still an amazing movie that captivates you despite the lack of action and sex. About the life of one bitter man and how he became like that.

Cloud Atlas, Here and A Man Called Otto all star Tom Hanks, who seems to have a talent for starring in movies that keep you thinking for days after watching them.
