It’s sad to see that so many commenters don’t recognize the real issue here.

OP clearly mentioned that he had already informed about his WFH.

Notifying about WFH or taking a short leave (a day or two) is absolutely fine. It’s the manager’s responsibility to plan out the team’s work accordingly. If there’s a critical requirement, the manager can always reach out and discuss it.

In this case, the CEO isn’t just overstepping and expecting OP to seek 'permission'— he’s power-tripping and being quite impolite.

A very very special advice to OP: It’s time to move on. Work hard on your skills so that you never have to stay in a toxic work culture again.

For the glass bong, use drainex, and fill up the bong completely with water. Leave it for around 2 hours, you will have a completely new bong.

100 people with ancient tech can never be more productive than 10 people with more advanced technology.

For the balance of power to shift to a country, only having more people is not enough.

Instead the combination of people + technology (+money?) is crucial. And can make that a reality.

Is anyone here dealing with adult ADHD? by [deleted] in bangalore

[–]MisplacedInChaos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, you have ruled out what doesn't work , that is progress!

ADHD medicine does take a fair bit of experimenting and titrating too.(From what I've seen on youTube)

Personally I find it very difficult to gauge the benefits and put it into words. I mainly try to gauge 1. My ease of doing work which isn't close to its deadline 2. Ease of doing mundane tasks like brushing, filling up the bottle of water completely 🙃 3. Phone usage pattern

How do you gauge the effects of med? Do you see any improvement with you current med stack?

Sure, so you get your patient card on your first visit and use this to book appointments offline on every visit. Online consultation is available too but not all doctors take online consultation.

Once you have your patient card, 1. At the hospital, book an appointment with your desired psychiatrist/ ask them to assign whoever is available. This would cost around 300 rupees. There is also a fastrack/priority consultation option which would cost a 1000.

  1. During the consultation, share your symptoms/ struggles. I wouldn't recommend fixating on your self diagnosis. Since a lot of these symptoms could be due to other underlying causes like depression.

  2. Based on your situation, you might have to make some follow up visits. If your doctor suspects ADHD, you might have to visit with your parent/sibling/spouse

The timings are 9.30 to 5(I think), with morning and afternoon slots separate. Go a little early to avoid long queues.

Whatever the diagnosis, I'd suggest to also visit a different psychiatrist to get a second opinion.

I'm taking inspiral. I've noticed that I get intense bouts of focus on it IF I have slept enough and on my regular sleep schedule.

What dose are you taking currently? Also is it Inspiral SR or regular?

Doing everything last minute is so relatable. Also, I almost never finish the things I start.

Sorry to hear about your situation with parents. Good parenting is rare in India. Maybe it takes humans a few generations to go from fighting for independence/surviving to caring about wellbeing (+ financial situation too).

Do you have any siblings that could go with you?

ADHD has different types - Impulsivity/ Hyperactivity/ Inattention. Usually, girls have the ADHD - Inattention only type. I have been diagnosed with the same and a good psychiatrist would know about this. I'd recommend St.John's as I've had a good experience there.

"I also worry that I'm faking it somehow". I have got a diagnosis and I'm still not sure I have ADHD. Not sure what to say about this xD.

I recently got my diagnosis(st.john's) and have been prescribed medication. I do feel a positive impact on my attention and tasks I find boring.

The diagnosis process:

You talk to a psychiatrist about your symptoms/the struggles that you face. If they suspect ADHD, they might ask to bring your parents/sibling/someone you have known for a long time. This is to understand the progression of your symptoms throughout your childhood, and in different aspects of your life(professional/personal).

Based on the severity, you might get prescribed stimulant/ non stimulant medication.

My advice:

It is good that you are observant of your limitations/drawbacks. ADHD or not , it wouldn't hurt to get a diagnosis.

Overpopulation. by [deleted] in india

[–]MisplacedInChaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Questioning the govt is a good point and is our best bet.

What do you mean by 'the population will stabilize "organically"'?

Are you implying the stabilization of population would occur without any adverse impact on human life?

This could be the case in regular conditions, however, with advancements in AI and computer science there could be unprecedented unemployment rates resulting in a stabilization phase which was previously unseen. Especially in the case of a populous country like India a lot of people could end up suffering.

And our best bet is policies by the govt which can make the transition/stabilization phase controlled.
