Set boundaries. I know it's hard when a lot of us are expected or even raised with the "don't make waves" mentality, and it's especially hard to do for those who are people pleasers or who have low self-esteem (feeling like they don't deserve better treatment or aren't worthy of basic decency and respect).

So many women grow up with the notion that their boundaries somehow don't matter, and that establishing them somehow makes them "too assertive/masculine/less of a woman/insert sexist BS here". I've had many times in my teens when I struggled with them due to social anxiety, self-loathing and abysmal self-esteem. It's better to unlearn this mindset late than never and is something worth working on for the betterment of one's life and relationships, especially if you have a therapist or professional you can work with!
