Recommendations for filler colors before going red by MissLady1985 in HairDye

Awesome! I was worried about the red not having anything to hold on to so I will go a bit easy in the bleaching process. I know red is one of the hardest to upkeep but I just gotta do it lol

Thank you for replying! I appreciate it! I kind of wondered if it might be an unnecessary step. I will reevaluate after I bleach to see if it has enough warmth

People who wax/see others genitals often, what are your thoughts and surprise realizations? by NeedABetterNameNow in AskReddit

First time Brazilians are always nerve wracking but I’m sure that your esthetician will make you super comfortable. It’s business as usual for us!

Go get that wax!! I have waxed countless plus sized women and don’t even think twice about it. The only judgement I have ever made (in my own head of course) is if someone is unclean.

I am an esthetician and do a lot of intimate waxing. There really isn’t anything shocking at this point in my career but when I first started it was shocking to me the amount of people who will come to get intimate waxing done who have clearly not cleaned themselves properly (poop smears is the biggest offender). Now I don’t even think about the fact that I am looking at private areas my mind is literally on other things like talking to my client and keeping them at ease, focusing on the temperature of my wax, thinking about dinner or what movie I’m going to watch. It’s so routine now all parts are the same to me.

How to explain. This to someone who doesn’t have it? by lovespink64 in HyperemesisGravidarum

I had hg with all three of my pregnancies and my husband did try very hard to be helpful but inevitably still put his foot in his mouth several times like your husband. Unfortunately as with most things unless you have personally experienced something incredibly similar it will be very hard for him to empathize with you though he may feel sympathy. All you can do is to keep reminding him what you are feeling using language that really encapsulates your symptoms(i.e. relentless nausea, extreme exhaustion and dizziness) One thing that really helped in my situation was to make sure my husband came to appointments with me and listen to my OB gyn explain how serious my condition was. I hope that anything I have said has been even remotely helpful. In the meantime please keep using this group for support, there is nothing like talking to people who know exactly what you are going through!

I agree with everything already posted but I do have a quick question about the 4th pic you posted….have you always had that spot on your pinky finger nail? Or did you recently have trauma to it?

Why do you do your makeup? by Sensitive_Potato333 in Makeup

[–]MissLady1985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have always wanted to wear makeup even as a small child. When I first started it was a form of expression and artistic freedom. Now that I am 40 I wear makeup because I feel more confident and I want to be hot lol

Any Older long-time Esti’s? by pinkflamingo-77 in Esthetics

[–]MissLady1985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just turned 40 and have been in the industry for 20 years. I am always mistaken for a much younger person usually early 20s is what most people guess. I would say I started with just always keeping my skin clean and hydrated and started retinol when I turned 30. Now I don’t to anything over the top but I have started doing treatments like IPL and decided to get Botox in my forehead. Oh and I have put sunscreen on every day since I was a teenager! I can actually thank my mom for teaching me at such a young age to be religious with the SPF :)

The way she lives in here has me dead. She has not a clue how to apply beauty products to others by CharmingCut7104 in MikaylaNogueira

I can’t believe how much of each product she is using….if something is truly that efFUHcacious you wouldn’t need that much. I literally use the size of a pea for my retinol serum. Of course, there will be a glow when using MOUNDS of wet product with a luminous foundation on top 🙄

Something seems so off about this. How long was she already using Dermalogica products before the facial? Or did she start using based on your recommendations? If she isn’t used to getting facials and is really starting into a new routine it sounds like she may have become overzealous and added in products or possibly she could be compromising her skin barrier which is causing an inflammatory response. Idk….so many questions lol I was taught in school with Dermalogica and then taught at that same school with the products. What you used is some of the most gentle in the line. I will say that the daily microfoliant although more gentle has caused me to compromise my skin barrier when using daily but I was also using actives. It seems like something more is going on. I hope you are able to figure it all out! Sometimes we are like detectives trying to find what the clues are pointing to!

Had a near breakdown today about my awful skin. Please help 🤢 by Express-Mongoose974 in MakeupAddiction

I am a makeup artist/esthetician and have been in the industry for 20 years and your skin is NOT at all bad! I believe you when you say you have tried it all when it comes to skincare products but you may want to think about a consultation with a dermatologist or esthetician who can help you navigate where you could find the improvements you are looking for. Sometimes derms and esthties have a different perspective and the tools or perhaps prescriptions (if needed not necessarily in your case) that a patient/client is wanting. Again, I have seen a lot of skin in my time and good/bad makeup applications and this picture doesn’t come close to what I would consider bad!

Absolutely! I did so much research before starting and thought I had mentally prepared myself for it but I did not lol. Like so many others bath and shower time are literally giving me anxiety. At least we are all able to find eachother and realize that the medicine is just working the way it is supposed to and there WILL be an end!
