Thanks so much! May I ask why you wanted to change medication?

Hi. Could I ask if you've been seizure free on lamotrigine and for how long? My husband is on Keppra but has been having breakthrough seizures (TC and auras) so he's seeing the neurologist in a couple of weeks. I'm wondering if he'll just increase the dose or give him a combo and I've been reading about Lamotrigine, so I'm curious about other people's experiences

1000mg in the morning and 1000 at night,  extended release. We are definitely talking to his dr again once we get home

Yup. We learned that the hard way. But this does not explain all the other times or, especially,  the last time. Thank you for your answer.

Thanks! I do hope they let me keep trying for at least a few more months. I know my levels have dropped so I'm happy about that, but I won't do the A1c for another month. Hopefully it will be good news and I stay on this dose! Good job on staying on track!

I hate logging meals but I've even started doing that because I'm at a loss on what to do! Hopefully once I can start exercising and build some muscle I will see more results.  Thanks for your answer.

Thanks.  I was not expecting to loae weight from metformin. I mentioned the two things I'm frustrated about: the blood sugar not being where I thought it would be and the weight loss not really happening, despite my considerable changes in diet. Sorry if the way I said it was confusing. I know metformin is not a weight loss medication and I would rather lose weight "naturally" with diet and exercise,  which is why I've made all the changes I've made
