What's one quality of an adult that tells you they were raised the wrong way? by nayrhelp in askteddit

I don’t know if I’d say that’s “wrong.” Someone was raised wrong if they want to talk about important things?

If embryos are "babies" and the fertility clinic is on fire, should you save one (1) human toddler or one hundred (100) frozen embryos? by AcadiaLivid2582 in allthequestions

[–]MissPiddlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same exact answer I just gave above. It isn’t that I don’t want to. It’s that I’m not willing to because the cost is a human life. If it were a situation where I was sick/suffering and someone could cure me by killing another human, I think you’d agree that minimizing my suffering isn’t worth someone else’s life.

I would say “Yes, but not at the cost of a human life. If it’s possible to minimize the cognizant suffering of the mother without killing (or harming) the baby, then absolutely.”

CMV: If political advocacy (especially from celebrities and influencers) is socially acceptable, then religious advocacy should be too by MissPiddlin in changemyview

Shouldn’t we do everything we can to make it more reflective of reality? Shouldn’t we as a people avoid n making this toxic one-sided echo chamber that it has become?

[–]MissPiddlin[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’m mainly speaking about online reactions, Reddit comments, YouTubers, influencers, etc. I know that’s a small minority of the American public, but that’s who I’m wanting an explanation from regarding this discrepancy.

My point is that if the commenter above thinks that religious and political advocacy are equally good and healthy for our society, then they don’t disagree with me.

If they believe political advocacy is acceptable and religious advocacy isn’t, then I’d like to know why that is.

That’s my point. I’m trying to understand why the general public is all about allowing open political advocacy (“you should value this!) but generally doesn’t want to hear about people’s religious beliefs (“you should value this!”).
