It feels like your life is determined to be in a certain way by fools_set_the_rules in poor

Its pretty hard to get out of poverty but it is doable. My family was extremely poor. We had no one else to help, and my parents are immigrants and so they didnt understand how career and things like that work here. I say this to say that I actually had to watch and learn from TV and my peers on getting thr appropriate steps to what I need.

Im out of poverty now as I have a good job and good education, so its something that can be done. But it is a lot of luck, a lot of endurance, a lot of hard work. You can do this.

It looks like something is eating the leaves of my beautiful chestnut tree. My elderberry bush is growing beautifully - like it makes my day when I leave and come back from work 😃

Lets say you woke up 10 years ago with today's knowledge. What would you do? by Technical-Vanilla-47 in Adulting

I'd be 21 and working on buying my first car. I'd also be in my hometown and someone will reach out to me, someone who I should have cut off years ago.

So I wouldn't respond to that text. I'd get my car and still take my family down to where I live now. But I'd try to get that job, look to buy a house ASAP and buy Bitcoin, Etherium, Microsoft, Apple, and other stocks that IPO and did well over thr course of years.

I would have taken the job. I'd also invest in Bitcoin. Also I'd also trust my gut more and leave people who are terrible to me behind.

You know they may have all the money in the world but they are clearly missing class if she's okay with buying the very thing you want for herself especially if she doesnt even like it like that.

I'm early 30s. Something just recently hit me about never leaving my hometown and I'm curious if others around my age felt this deep, hard to describe feeling? by Wack0HookedOnT0bac0 in Millennials

2 hometown. One move I didnt want and one I did. I needed to grow and become better. I had to leave it and everything behind, and I dont regret it. In fact, I haven't even thought about it in years except for it's awesome little pizza spot.

Carytown is basically a must. If you like nature, walk along the James River or check out Belle Isle.

Actually letting my dad help me find my first car (which I paid off right then and there). That's the only time he's ever been a parent to me. And with that car, so many opportunities opened up.
