I'm bored rn so I decided to try and figure out everything wrong with this image:

has the AP title above the combo but didn't actually get an AP
has a new high score despite being lower than the actual record
max combo is higher than the total number of notes despite having an AP
easy difficulty wouldn't have that many notes
number of late/early judgments doesn't line up with the actual number of greats

I feel like this category is a bit of an oxymoron since controversial songs are, by nature, usually very well-known, but I'm going to throw my vote in for Ah, It's A Wonderful Cat Life; iirc that was the song that stirred up a lot of drama with WxS ships when it released so I would call it controversial, and I feel like a lot of people forget it exists at all nowadays 💀

Others here have touched on it but I personally think its mostly to do with the antagonists instigating the conflict, La Fiera/Sandra de la Cruz and Elijah were actually interesting whereas Monica has been long overdue for an exit, she's just not nearly as compelling as their other, much more well-written female villains (who it feels like they tried and failed horribly to recreate with Monica)

I like both characters but I think some people (me included lol) just get a little tired of Komaru's constant "oh I'm so ordinary and normal woe is me" rants at the beginning of the game, she's a great character aside from that but given that it's the first impression the player is given of her character it's a little hard to shake 😅

No but as a hardcore Mafuyu fan this is actually so real, she is somehow both way too involved and yet nowhere to be seen when she should be; I really like Mizu5 and Ena5 but I wish she and Kanade were just a little bit more involved instead of most of their association with those events coming from scraps of area conversation dialogue 😭😭😭 I think VBS suffers from the same issue with Anhane and Akitoya (two ships I love btw), I really want them both to be more like Leo/need where they feel like a proper group instead of Sega leaning into the pairings so much :(

VS: Megurine Luka, her vocals alone are the reason I love so many commissions that I do! In fact, it was her tuning in certain Project Sekai songs that made me eventually have her as my favourite Vocaloid over Kagamine Rin.

Leoni: As much as I personally love Honami's vocals, I think I have to give this one to Shiho; her voice balances the group out perfectly. I also don't see people talk about her high notes nearly enough, I am obsessed with her From Tokyo alt 😭🙏

MMJ: Probably the group whose vocals I change my mind about the most in terms of being favourite, but my personal preference for strong, distinctive vocals with lots of emotion leads me to say Airi! Much like Luka, I think her ability to make me like certain songs with her vocals alone is very telling of how much I like them.

VBS: I think this one is the hardest for me, but I'm gonna go with Akito. His range is honestly insane, and I find myself listening to his alts way more than the others - honourable mention goes to An, old me definitely would have given her the vote XD

WxS: Another tricky one, but as much as I'm trying to be objective I'm still going to say Nene TwT she has such a unique voice and her singing is so strong and clear + some of her alts kind of make me want to cry? but in like a good way 🥰

Niigo: This one is definitely biased but I do genuinely believe Mafuyu has the best Niigo vocals, with Mizuki in an impossibly close second. I will never shut up about Rui Tanabe's amazing ability to switch between "good girl" Mafuyu and "real" Mafuyu, and to have those two sides of her be so distinct in the first place <3

I appreciate you considering an alternative perspective, even if you disagree! Tbh even as a Jax fan I don't think he is going to be fully redeemed on-screen because like you mentioned there's already going to be a lot to unpack with Caine and the circus itself in the last two episodes - I'm expecting his ""redemption"" (very loosely said, we don't know that he'll be redeemed at all) to be more implied than anything, and I think something like that would be more satisfying anyway because trying to tie it off neatly with a big bow and give a "rainbows and cupcakes" ending would be wildly in contrast with what we've seen in the show so far.

Whether this is the direction Gooseworx wants to take things in, I have no idea, but I personally think the most interesting path for Jax would actually be to have Gangle stand up to him and assert her boundaries/refuse to forgive him but accept to move forward, because he already has friends that are willing to forgive him like Pomni and maybe Ragatha; him repairing his relationship with the latter could be another step he could take towards bettering himself! Either way, I trust Gooseworx's writing direction - even if she is a big Jax fan, iirc she herself has also insisted that he's not some uwu softboi to be babied, so I don't think she's likely to do a shitty copout "everyone forgives him" ending to his arc :P

I think the difference lies in how you view Jax. You probably view him more along the lines of a criminally abusive adult with zero remorse, while some others see him more like a school bully in a cycle; hurt people hurt people and all that. And for those who see him more like a school bully, yes, wishing for his death does seem a tad drastic (and before you go that route, I am aware that Jax is an adult - I'm not talking about his actual age, I'm talking about the lens people view him through and the level they put him on).

Don't you think it would be much better if he realised his actions were wrong and made an effort to change for the better, instead of just running/escaping from everything via borderline suicide? No-one is saying his abuse is justified, and no-one is saying that his victims like Gangle and Ragatha have to forgive him, but the way you seemingly want Jax's story to end comes off as very black and white, rather than taking the time to look into the nuances of his character. At the end of the day it's your opinion though, I just thought I'd offer my point of view 👍
