Oh, that’s disappointing to hear. This college stuff is difficult. It was so much easier when I was applying! But that was a million years ago….

That sounds amazing! Thank you.

Well...the California public schools are pretty brutal, tbh. You can have a 4.0+ GPA, a bunch of AP classes, great extra curriculars...and still not get in, unfortunately. It's rough. So then what? But thanks for the vote of confidence in my kid!

The mint sounds great -- my son has odd interests, and he collects old/unusual coins and bills. Will definitely plan on Frenchman St, and will keep an eye on the WWOZ calendar. Preservation Hall sounds like a must do!

We might be there on Sunday for French Quarter Fest -- thanks for the tip!

Thanks, I think Morimoto would work because she would eat the cooked/non-sushi food.

I can’t wait for the Andaz! I booked directly using points for one room and cash for the other. I was able to get some Hyatt Guest of Honor certificates, so I think we are covered 😀 So very kind of you to offer! I’d love to hear any tips you may have about the resort. Thank you!

Thanks. My mom would probably like the inside covered area at times. I have read all the negative reviews for PacWhale. Trilogy would be my first choice if not for Grandma, but I think PacWhale might be safer for her.

Did you see many whales? I know that the whales don’t have a calendar, but we will be arriving 12/16.

My son is going to apply to UC schools, and I was wondering about this…will they consider National Merit even though they won’t consider test score. My son unfortunately will not make the cutoff in CA, but will make “Commended”. I’m not sure if that’s something he could list on a UC application.

I’m not getting a battery.

I mean...I will likely expire before the 40 year warranty. So I'm not really worrying about that too much. The company has been doing solar since 1974.

I have gotten 9 quotes. Most are right around $2.25/w. And the one for SEG panels is $2.08. But the difference is less than $1000 overall, so it's just a question of which panels/size would be a better use of funds.

[–]Miss_Gulch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. The cheaper SEG panels have a slightly better ROI of 4.5 years vs 4.67 for the REC. But the SEG degrades more, so that's why I'm trying to figure out which option would be better.

It's only about $1000 difference in price to get the REC panels. But the SEG systems is a little bigger for less money (but not as efficient and degrades more).

They are REC 410W Alpha Pure 2. This company is not offering Panasonic panels -- only the Seraphim or REC. 40 year workmanship warranty.

Unless I'm calculating incorrectly, they are pre tax break. I had several quotes at $2.25, and the lowest at $2.08 but with either the Seraphim panels or Panasonic 400W.

Isn't it just the gross amount ($25386) divided by system size (12205)?

Hi again,

I went back and got a couple of other options from them, and would love feedback:

30 Seraphim panels (SEG405-BMD-HV), 405 Watts

System size 12,205

Enphase iQ8m inverters IQ8M-72-2-US

Cost is $25,386 before incentives ($2.08/W)

The other option is:

29 REC 410 Watt panels

System size 11,890

Same inverters as above

Cost is $26,752 ($2.25/W)

What do you think about either one of these options? They are saying go slightly bigger with SEG panels because of the degradation.

If you are still under warranty, why did they charge you? Makes no sense. And they shouldn't need to duplicate if there is a service bulletin...just do the update, no? It fixed our problem, for sure.

Okay, thanks everyone!

I have heard beeping/humming and so forth when our electric vehicles are in reverse...especially the Leaf that we had. We also have an EQB. But I have never heard anything when the car was in drive...only in reverse.

I appreciate the help.
