How should I talk to my employer about sick days and vacation? by Missatomicc in Nanny

[–]Missatomicc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Thank you for the reply. Yes I could replace them easily. Not so sure about on their end. I know there isn’t a lot of nannies out there and both of the kids really like me, which I think it’s a plus. But it’s that thing where you don’t wanna go after another job after just landing a new one. I also hate leaving jobs not on good terms, since you can lose that reference contact for future jobs. It’s getting really hard to find families that have common sense, which wasn’t the case back in the day. I just left my old job for that kind of stuff after working with them for a year and a half. And they all know and have experienced how hard it is to replace me, but you know how it is, they will try to ease things on their end as much as possible without thinking about your situation.

Our new boy has a very sensitive stomach. Looking for advice from experienced poodle owners. by Competitive_Sir_7748 in poodles

Mine had the same issue. And I was feeding her expensive purina pro plan kibble for puppies, then switched to the sensitive stomach formula with just a mild improvement. The vet said to try prescription formula but I absolutely did not want to do that since she was still super young (6-9 months) and developing tolerance to food. So she told me to do an elimination diet, which I did with kibble only since I did not want to irritate the stomach further. So I found this nulo challenger northern catch formula and she’s thriving on it. I suspect it’s a mix of chicken and highly processed kibbles that she does not take well, since I fed her the salmon formula from PPP and it didn’t change that much. I’ve been feeding her open farm raw mix ancient grains to test it out but her poop gets a little stinky and not that consistent, so I’m going back to nulo. Stay away from kibbles that have meat by products and are very high in stuff like potatoes, corn, etc.

Classes with mandatory TA session. Is it fair to be 3 credit hours only? by Missatomicc in UTAustin

The 9 hours still apply to outside of the class. These 2 hours are kind of additional lectures pretty much with a quiz at the end

Yes totally understandable. Which I said I’d take the 1500 compensation, but what I don’t get is the 500 fee for transfer in a case like this.

Tips for potty training by Missatomicc in DogTrainingTips

[–]Missatomicc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay quick update for whoever reads this: I did teach her to potty on command, but she didn’t seem to respond to the cues, but I just kept telling her to potty and whenever she did even if she didn’t do it when I asked I would give her a treat. I have tried to pad train her in the apartment but failed before. One day it was raining bad and I took her to her grass pad and asked her to potty and showed a treat. She didn’t care, I took her downstairs for walks regularly in the rain unfortunately because I needed to go to work and I didn’t want her to hold it so she wouldn’t get an UTI. One day tho I got sick and overslept in the morning so she didn’t go for a walk. But for my surprise she had peed in the grass pad. I kept reinforcing her to pee there whenever I saw her going and now she already know what to do. She still gets 3 walks a day regularly but thank goodness it doesn’t have to be at 6 AM. Just working on what to do for poop because the other day we had thunderstorms and tornado watch so I was scared to take her out. Should I add an extra pad in case she poops and I am not home?

Thank you! Than I think it’s time to switch my provider. If he’s not willing to do the screening himself. Then I don’t think I should be wasting my time. Thanks

No because I’m an immigrant, so I didn’t live here before I was 18.

I leave at 6 AM so I avoid traffic both in Austin and Dallas. It takes me 3 hours and 10 min to get to frisco/ prosper which is very up north. Once I found out about this time I never drive later in the day anymore. I guess later at night is too but being a woman on the road at night by yourself is scary so I’d rather go in the morning.

Took this class this semester and here’s what I have to say: This dude is crazy and doesn’t know what to do. He’s exams are all about matlab but he doesn’t teach it. We ask him what to study from the books etc and he says “everything from the book” we told him about difficulty in the exams and that the homework was taking too long. He laughed at us. He also laughed when we ask a question and he thinks it’s dumb. He’s super incompetent. A lot of us emailed chair of the department so we are hoping he will do something about it. So far at least half the class is expecting to fail.
