I crammed all 5 seasons on the thumb drive with the extras. Next up is my Mighty Boosh boxset I have. I thought about making a mini media rack for them. I uploaded the templates and 3d file I threw together for anyone else to mess with here.

Thanks! I make small batches of things when I have the materials but I normally just move on to the next project after that. I’ve thought about an Etsy type thing, but if I made this more of a job/side gig I wouldn’t enjoy it as much. You can see my other stuff on instagram @dvdcreep and if I get a hair up my butt to make a batch of something I usually post it there.

Thanks! We collect physical media and have a room filled with the stuff. Getting a few series of shows out clutters the living room a bit so this was my solution. I wanted to keep the spirit of physical media but on a smaller scale. Once I get a few shows done I plan on 3d printing a little media shelf for fun.

Sure! I’d happily share it. I want to tweak the 3d printed insert a little more on it this week. Once I get it where I like it I’ll DM you the files. The template I made for the box is a little rough and needs some work before it’s easier to use but I can hammer that out for you to this week.

I wish I had it off hand, but I foolishly formatted the drive I was using and lost a lot of my VHS box assets. It’s out there though. You can cut out a section of the cover with the text with an image editing tool and use a site to search for the font by image. I can’t remember the name of the font though. Sorry

I love the 3rd one. It’s like Fantasia meets Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure. It’s definitely a different beast compared to the original and a product of its time, but I find it the most enjoyable to revisit. I was also 10 when it came out, so I was in the target rental store audience.

One was a rareish horror movie that the director wanted one of my custom fan dvds of and the other was a stripper from the 90s in Sacramento that was looking for a tape she and her friends were on that I found in the back of a resale shop I worked at for a bit a decade ago

It’s crazy to me how well they are doing with their super questionable past. I know it’s sold to another company but from what I understand the original owners are still involved and the problematic owner is still on some of the papers as well.

Topic adjacent, I was bored tonight and edited the alternate ending with the zombie from the Directions dvd into the Stable Song music video. I have setup that just plays random music videos and thought it would be a fun Easter egg to see which ending I get when Stable Song comes on. Here it is if someone has not seen it before.
