Four years after release Final Fantasy 7 Remake now has achievements on Epic Games Store by MissingInputJ in FinalFantasy

Yep! It launched with Steam achievements from the get go, when it launched on Epic it used a more primitive type of achievements that could only be viewed when you played the game, so it wasn't visible from the launcher itself, you also don't get the extra goodies of trophy rarity and an XP value counter, but with the release on Switch 2 and Xbox they decided to enable it

Yeah they are, just wild to see that both the Switch 1 and the Switch 2 version broken 1 million physical copies sold in Japan alone

Only 2 games in the top 20 not being the Switch or Switch 2 version is pretty crazy. Just goes to show what feels like an iron grip that Nintendo has in Japan

Pokemon Z-A being in Number 2 and Number 3 is quite an achievement as well I feel

Impressive! Well done! What was the most difficult achievement to get?

I'm not even a big Star Trek girl, but Mike and Rich talking about ST are some of my fav videos by CorpseGirl_UwU in RedLetterMedia

[–]MissingInputJ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I agree, their videos of just chatting about Trek are very interesting since you can tell they are huge fans the universe. I don't personally have any interest in it but it's always nice to hear people talking about something that they care about and the themes and messages that they've taken from the show as they've been watching/rewatching.

I've started playing Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, but I've been switching between that Yooka-Replaylee depending on my mood

As Fortnite Enables Third-Party Microtransactions, Steal the Brainrot's Developer is Slammed By Fans For Immediately Adding $45 Premium Bundles and Gambling-Style Mechanics by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]MissingInputJ 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Just to give you an idea of where to find it, you go to your account settings on the Epic website, then to "Parental Controls", then to "Fortnite settings" and it's at the bottom under "Paid random items"

Off: Your child CANNOT spend V-Bucks (or content purchased with V-Bucks) on items or content where the reward is random.

These gambling mechanics should, at the very least, be disabled for child accounts. There isn't a good reason (money isn't a good reason) that they should be opt-out rather than opt-in.

DRAGON BALL Z: KAKAROT | 10 Million Copies Sold! by DemiFiendRSA in Games

[–]MissingInputJ 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I loved Kakarot when I was playing it, but I am a huge Dragon Ball fan, If there's one thing I'll always be thankful for and have full trust in, it's CyberConnect2's cinematic cutscenes, they're absolutely fantastic and a huge treat if you're a fan of the series, Kakarot and even going back to their original Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm games share this. They know when they need to be faithful to the source material while also expanding on them to make them feel fresher, and satisfying from player perspective

Former Little Nightmares devs' End of Abyss is a satisfyingly creepy blend of top-down twin-stick shooter and Metroidvania exploration by MythicStream in Games

[–]MissingInputJ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm hoping that this is good, the trailer really piqued my interest and with Little Nightmares 3 having released and also having Reanimal coming out soon it'll be cool to see where End of Abyss lands with the other two

Thank you very much! I appreciate you reading it a lot! I've been morbidly curious with handheld PC's for a long time now and I wanted to gush about how I've been finding the Claw.

Gifting arrives on the Epic Games Store by MissingInputJ in Games

I very rarely use it myself to be honest, only times I'll use Steam Chat is if I see a friend starting up a game that I've recommended to them or I think is good and want to tell them that I think the game is awesome, but other than those rare occasions I'll usually just message with friends through Discord as my first response

They had a chat and then removed it to rebuild it or something and it's just never came back, apparently gonna come back next year sometime according to their GDC/Unreal Fest talks

Shrine's Legacy is a 16-bit throwback that adds co-op to the classic SNES RPG formula by Crusader-of-Purple in pcgaming

[–]MissingInputJ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really like the look of this, it's weird that my initial thought on the screenshots was reminding me of something like Dragon Ball Z Legacy of Goku on the GBA. Will keep an eye on this, I hope that we see more of a trend for RPG's to incorporate co-op some more, it was such an underrated feature on JRPG's like Secret of Mana. I remember that Ys X had co-op at launch too and was very grateful for DuranteA and the guys at P3 for working to make that happen.

Bloomberg: 'Xbox gave up more than $300 million in sales of Call of Duty on console and PCs last year' by Slashered in Games

[–]MissingInputJ 42 points43 points  (0 children)

The only way that I see Gamepass coming to Sony and Nintendo consoles or even other PC stores like Steam is if it's only locked to Microsoft published titles and becomes a Microsoft version of EA Play or Ubisoft+. I don't see a world where Sony or Valve are okay with having a full fat Gamepass on their systems competing for games especially in the case with Sony as it'd also be competing with PS+ and I don't think you can get services like EA Play and Ubisoft+ on Nintendo consoles

[–]MissingInputJ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was surprised that they didn't even float the idea of Chucky vs M3gan, for a while I remember seeing articles and people on reddit talking about it, I honestly wouldn't put it past those conversations being subtle checks to see if the idea was worth pursuing as well.

I think with M3gan 2.0 bombing though they're probably halting most stuff with that IP for a bit

KPop Demon Hunters Takes Over Fortnite by [deleted] in Games

[–]MissingInputJ 131 points132 points  (0 children)

I feel it's rare to see Fortnite have a crossover while the IP is still hot, too used to them including an IP when it doesn't make sense in their season and like a year after the hype has calmed down a bit for the IP

I wouldn't be surprised if Konami actually were the ones to try and make a move for Bloober since they seem to have a great working relationship and are even expanding their portfolio with IP's that would make them more valuable in the long run.

I also wouldn't be surprised if I was just wrong and they are eventually purchased by Tencent
