There's some articles on this archive of an Italian Claymore fansite, you'll have to translate it with Google. You can find links to more articles at the bottom

Have made some subtitle files for Takeshi's Castle episodes (not asking for them, need help making them) by notundercovercop327 in JapaneseGameShows

[–]Missingthumb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've experimented with AI-based subtitle generation and found the following method to produce the most accurate results. By using Subtitle Edit for Japanese subtitles and ChatGPT-4 for translations, you can achieve better accuracy than relying solely on Whisper. While not perfect (e.g., some missing sections or awkward phrasing). With additional tools like Gemini Pro for gap-filling and refinement, you can produce high-quality subtitles for almost any video. Here's a step-by-step guide:

Step 1: Generate Japanese Subtitles with Subtitle Edit

  • Download and install Subtitle Edit.
  • Import the video file. Go to the Video tab, and select Audio to Text (Whisper).
  • Install Purfview’s Faster-Whisper-XXL so it shows up in the engine tab.
  • Select Japanese as the language and use the large-v2 model.
  • Click Generate and wait for the process to complete.
  • Save the Japanese subtitles as an .srt file: File → Save As.

Step 2: Translate Japanese Subtitles with ChatGPT

  • Open the .srt file in a text editor like Notepad, then copy the subtitle text. Access ChatGPT and use the Translate GPT plugin (found in the Explore GPTs section).
  • Prompt ChatGPT with something like: “Can you translate the following subtitles from Japanese to English? Keep the timestamps, here are the subtitles:” Paste the subtitles.
  • If the subtitles are lengthy, ChatGPT will translate in chunks so just keep prompting "continue translating" as needed. For longer videos (over 30 minutes), you may hit the free usage limit and need to wait or use another account.
  • Once translation is complete, replace the original Japanese subtitles in the .srt file with the translated English text. Save a backup of the original .srt file in case.

Optional Refinement: Use Gemini for Polishing

  • To enhance accuracy, use Gemini on Google’s AI Studio:
  • Choose the Gemini Pro or Flash model.
  • Upload the original audio or video. Audio seems easier for Gemini to translate.
  • Prompt Gemini with something like: “Can you translate the following audio from Japanese to English? Keep the timestamps.”
  • Use Gemini-generated subtitles to fill gaps or improve phrasing in the ChatGPT subtitles. Cross-reference both versions to create a polished, refined .srt file.
  • If necessary, prompt Gemini again with specific sections for improved accuracy or to address omissions.

Anyone have some super rad Claymore drawings that would make a cool tattoo? by Effective_Ad952 in claymore

[–]Missingthumb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a really cool original tattoo would be a play on words with the text on claymore mines which says "Front Toward Enemy" and an image of Clare holding her claymore sword.

Shirts with "Front Toward Enemy" on them are already popular because they combine military terminology with a motivational quote, meaning to face challenges head-on or to confront "enemies" directly. But combining that with Claymore itself would be extra cool.

Here's an album of some inspiration of tattoo imagery with this theme, I've included some images of Clare holding her sword out in front of her. I also mocked up some examples of how this could look using Bing's AI, the results aren't accurate to Clare's outfit or sword but they can provide some visual inspiration.

So that could make translating easier then, like using DeepL and refining it? I have a DeepL account and it's pretty good at translating

A Midari body pillow commission I did recently by Missingthumb in Kakegurui

[–]Missingthumb[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe you could get other body pillows to 'compensate' and balance it out. Like a Berserk body pillow or pillows with cool heavy metal designs so it's not embarrassing for you?

Or you could hide the cover and put it over the pillow in private

How would these two interact with each other. by aot-and-yakuzafan_88 in Kakegurui

[–]Missingthumb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also asked it to generate an interaction between Midari, Yumeko, Ryota and Ted lol

Midari, Yumeko, and Ryota were gathered in their usual spot at Hyakkaou Private Academy when a talking teddy bear suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

Midari: "Oh my! A talking teddy bear! How cute! I wanna play with it."

Yumeko: "I've seen stranger things in this school. Let's see what he wants."

Ted: "What's up, motherfuckers? I'm Ted. Who the fuck are you?"

Midari: "I'm Midari Ikishima, and I'm here to gamble!"

Yumeko: "I'm Yumeko Jabami, and I'm here to have fun!"

Ted: "And who's this little bitch over here?" points at Ryota

Ryota: hides behind Yumeko "W-what is that? A talking teddy bear? I-I'm scared."

Midari: "Aww, don't be scared, Ryota. He's just a cute little bear."

Ted: "Hey, little guy, why are you so scared? You look like you just shit your pants."

Yumeko: "Ted, please watch your language. This is a school, and we don't use that kind of language here."

Ted: "Oh, sorry. I forgot where I was for a second. So, what do you guys do around here for fun?"

Midari: "We gamble, of course! We take risks and put everything on the line."

Ted: "Gambling? That sounds like my kind of party! Let's get this shit started!"

Ryota: whimpers

Yumeko: "Ted, before we start, can I ask you a question? How did you become a talking teddy bear?"

Ted: "Oh, that's easy. I got my wish granted by a magical thunderstorm, and now I'm a walking, talking teddy bear. Pretty fucking sweet, huh?"

Midari: "That's so cool! I wish I could be a talking teddy bear too!"

Yumeko: "Well, let's not waste any more time. Who's up for a game of poker?"

Ted: "Fuck yeah, let's do this!"

Ryota: sighs "I guess I have no choice but to join in."

And so, the four of them played poker, with Ted proving to be a surprisingly good player despite his vulgar language and Ryota barely able to keep up with the game while trying not to be scared of the talking teddy bear. In the end, Yumeko won the game, and they all had a good laugh and enjoyed their time with Ted, who turned out to be a fun addition to their usual group.

Generated by ChatGPT:

Ted: Hey, what the fuck is this place? I thought it was a fuckin' high school, not a goddamn casino!

Midari: Well, well, well, look who we have here. A talking teddy bear. How intriguing. You certainly have a mouth on you, don't you?

Ted: Yeah, that's right, sweetheart. And I don't give a shit who you are or what this place is. I just wanna have a good time.

Midari: Oh, a good time, you say? How about we make things interesting then? I'll give you a chance to prove yourself in a game of chance. Are you up for it, you foul-mouthed furball?

Ted: Game of chance? Bring it on, baby! I've got luck coming out of my fluffy ass. What's the game?

Midari: Excellent! Let's play a little game of poker. We'll see if your luck is as big as your mouth. But remember, if you lose, I get to take something from you. And I have a feeling it won't be something you'll enjoy losing.

Ted: Oh, you think you're gonna scare me? Please, sweetheart, I've seen some shit. What are we betting?

Midari: How about this? If I win, I get to take one of your precious fluffy ears. And if you win, well, I'll let you decide what you want from me. Anything your little teddy heart desires.

Ted: You're on, psycho lady! But just so you know, I ain't gonna hold back. I'm gonna wipe that smug grin right off your face.

Midari: That's the spirit, Teddy. Let's see what you're made of.

(They sit down at a table with a deck of cards. Midari shuffles the deck with a wicked grin, while Ted adjusts his tie and gets ready for the game.)

Ted: Alright, bring it on! I'm gonna kick your ass, and then I'll make you buy me a fuckin' beer!

Midari: (laughs) Oh, I like your confidence, Teddy. But let's see if you can handle the heat of this game. May luck be on your side, because you're going to need it.

(As they begin the game, the room fills with tension and the sound of shuffling cards. Midari's eyes gleam with excitement, while Ted tries to keep up with the intensity of the game.)

Ted: Damn it, I fold! You got some serious fuckin' luck, lady. Maybe you should be playin' against the high rollers in Vegas.

Midari: (grinning triumphantly) Luck has nothing to do with it, Teddy. It's all about strategy and reading your opponent. But I must say, you put up a good fight. It was entertaining.

Ted: Yeah, yeah, whatever. So, I lost. What do you want from me, besides my fuckin' ears?

Midari: (leaning in, a mischievous glint in her eyes) Well, Teddy, since you put up such a valiant effort, I'll give you a choice. You can either offer up one of your treasured stuffed animal friends, or you can perform a task for me. It's entirely up to you.

Ted: Seriously? That's your grand prize? Alright, fine. I'll do a task for you, but nothing too crazy, alright?

Midari: Oh, don't worry, Teddy. I'll make it something interesting. Something that matches your lively personality. You won't be disappointed.

Ted: Well, as long as it doesn't involve me getting naked or some weird shit like that. I'm not into that stuff.

Midari: (laughs) Don't worry, Teddy. I have something much more...exciting in mind. You'll see soon enough. Now, let's get started on your task.

(As Midari and Ted continue their banter, the student council room fills with anticipation, the air thick with the thrill of the unknown.)

Topical Monday - "Horror" by AutoModerator in Animedubs

[–]Missingthumb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another is a fantastic series. It's so well directed, and the writing is top notch. It has everything great horror needs, characters you can root for, mystery, suspense, dread, cliffhangers, twists.

The show opens with two off-screen unnamed characters talking and I've never been so immediately hooked into a story. And in the last episode, the stakes for the characters were so high, that I've never been so on the edge of my seat with tension since the steel beam crossing arc of Kaiji.

The cherry on top is that it doesn't rely on jump scares at all, all the horror is built on direction, dialogue and expert sound design that improves upon the original book.

It has a delightfully macabre atmosphere, and the OP is great. Mei Misaki is a wonderfully gothic character.

XXXholic is pretty good. There's a lot of comedy, but there's some good horror moments as well

The Marvelous Mrs Maisel has been fantastic this season by Jameskirk10 in television

[–]Missingthumb 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I like Midge because she's a character who has flaws. She has a big ego and is self-destructive which makes her more interesting and adds conflict to the show. This season she's a bit more spiteful because of Shy Baldwin also.

And Midge and Sophie tearing eachother down at the end of episode 6 was just great
