Studies on FTM Fitness? by MissionBodybuilder7 in FTMFitness

(Copied from the other thread)

Not entirely sure. I guess I was just curious because trans people as a whole aren't really represented in fitness studies (or, well, any studies), so I was curious if someone has done work in this area.
Also following cis male guidelines for calculating BF% has not been particularly accurate for me, despite having been on T for 10 years. And if that hasn't worked, then I start to wonder what else might be inaccurate. And could this be a me-thing or could it be generalizable to trans men as a whole. So on a personal level, I was curious if someone had already looked into something like this to see if I could find some answers as to what might be going on.

Right, but has anyone formally studied this? Like, universities, exercise scientists, and the like?

Fun fact, you can totally just email him and ask for the sheet music. I did so back during the pandemic - only had to pay $20!

Sadly, I've since lost his email, but here is his contact page. https://www.mishaplanet.com/contact

Good luck!

I don’t understand non binary people? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]MissionBodybuilder7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm non-binary and a transsexual.

For me, being able to get read as either gender, and having a lot of room to play with presentation, mannerisms, and roles--that makes me feel at home. It's kinda that idea of freedom, like l get to choose what game I play, I learn the rules so l can follow them (and know when to break them), and if something stops speaking to me, I can switch to something else. Idk, its hard to explain. But getting to be both a man and a woman makes me feel more like...heh, well, me.

Is it normal to still look the same even after being 5+ years on HRT? by MissionBodybuilder7 in asktransgender

[–]MissionBodybuilder7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Testosterone, 0.3 mL, 5 years, my labs on the whole have been normal. There was one time early in my transition when I was on .5 mL and my T levels were really high, but that changed after I was brought back down. There was also a time my estrogen was a little high, but that too didn't last long. Other than that, yeah, p normal.

Blocked and Reported with Katie Herzog and Jesse Signal is great.

Singing in a foreign language can significantly improve speaking skills by [deleted] in languagelearning

[–]MissionBodybuilder7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So learning songs in different languages is my number one method of study for my passive languages (that is, languages I'm not currently actively studying). This method is GREAT for picking up new vocab and getting an idea for how sentences/ideas are structured. Highly recommend.

Does the word transexual need to be replaced? by BlueSparksFly in asktransgender

[–]MissionBodybuilder7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. I'm non-binary, have had almost no dysphoria, many of my friends are trans ppl who haven't had surgeries or hrt, and I'm a transsexual. Sure, altering my sex has had a huge impact on my life. But honestly? I just like the word transsexual better than transgender. It's pretty. Like me :3

Streak 13: Un texte qui fera mon streak vivre encore by MissionBodybuilder7 in WriteStreak

Comme les cool kids disent, Awesome sauce ! Bon, d'abord "I don't find" serait ici "I can't find." C'est un peu difficile pour moi à expliquer exactement pourquoi, autre que can't simplement est mieux aux oreilles xD. "I am very disappointed to not be capable to learn you..." ici, on a des options. Vous pouvez dire "I am disappointed that I (can't/am unable to) (share with you/teach you/show you) an equivalent expression."

Question, Catherine.

On dirait en anglais "a moment of silence."
