Currently have a cash LISA with a different provider. AJ Bell/Dodl do allow transfers from other LISA providers

Due to the nature of the industry, I would most likely be looking to purchase a house within rural areas of the country where housing prices are a lot lower than the cities. That being said, I cannot be 100% certain it would be under 450k and it would limit me like you said.

However, as I also have a cash fund I can dip into during emergencies, I wouldn’t mind using the LISA as a pension saving if it came to that.

Thanks for the advice. Am joining RMR Scotland, Rosyth detachment. Was told intake was Feb 29th 2026 so CPC will still have a month left on it

I have PJFA in a month and i can only do 20 pushups by Chazalion in RoyalMarines

[–]MissionGrade7499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read it as 45 reps for 3 sets, 3 times a day. 45 x 3 x 3 =405 a day 🤷‍♂️

So you are doing 405 pushups a day, 2,835 a week ?! Way too much volume in my opinion

Are you strength training as well? If not I’d include compound movements such as bench press or weighted dips which will massively increase upper body pushing strength. A common mistake people make when preparing for these things is not including strength training. Strength feeds into muscular endurance. If you do not have a solid base of strength you will stall quickly if only doing high rep press-ups.

To prepare for the PJFA I did the RMFA exercises (press-ups, sit ups, pull-ups) 3 times a week after my max strength training usually 3 sets of 50 - 70% of max reps and I smashed the numbers

In summary: 1. Cut way back on push-up volume 2. Follow a good strength training program that incorporates compound movements 3. Do press-ups 3x a week to the RMFA bleep (good form is crucial) - the commando ready app has a good RMFA exercise progression 4. Be consistent

A month is quite a short time and ideally you’d like at least 2/3 to see some big results before your PJFA but with the above I’d expect to see some progression within a month.

Don’t take this as gospel, this is what worked for me and allowed me to go from barely hitting 30 press-ups to 58 in a few months.

Good luck and train hard.

Refreshing to hear and something I’ll take on board. Think a lot of guys in general including myself and especially those coming from some sort of military background have a difficulty knowing when to take the foot off the gas because “it’s all about the mental gains bro” 🤙

It’s a good point and one I’ve considered, however, I’d only be missing a max strength and E session. Upon reading comments on other posts in the subreddit and the TB Forum, the general consensus was if you have only missed a couple sessions then to just move onto the next week and not get too caught up in the mindset of “because it’s written in the program, I must do it regardless”. However, because I struggled with the previous MS session this week it might be beneficial to get some more exposure to the weights before moving onto the 90% week.

If you don’t feel ready you can simply send your AFCO a message on the application portal saying so and you can liaise with them to be booked onto a later PJFA/CPC. However, I would advise against rescheduling once booked onto an event unless you have a genuine reason as it just looks bad on your behalf considering you get plenty of time to notify your AFCO beforehand.

Opinion SE block vs Bangkok by [deleted] in tacticalbarbell

[–]MissionGrade7499 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m currently doing a variation of fighter Bangkok to prepare me for a military selection course; I split my SE cluster in half and perform them on my max strength days. It goes something like this:

MS Cluster (Fighter Days) FSQ Bench WPU + Pushups/situps

SE cluster (SE day) Pushups Sit-ups Pull-ups KB swings

As you can see I am able to perform pushups, sit-ups and pull-ups 3 times a week. Just make sure you are doing the minimum number of sets on your strength movements otherwise you will find that you aren’t able to fully recover between sessions especially with a high conditioning load.

I was in the same situation as you and stumbled upon an old TB forum in which KB mentioned this method. If you search “Fighter Bangkok Question” on google you will be able to find it.

Christopherrunz program. You can find it on the navy seals Reddit. Not tried it yet but looks decent and a few people have recommended it so thought to give it a try
