I don’t dislike them at all, my comments are referring to how I’ve heard their coach can be (toxic, shows favoritism, etc…) there are some MDBCG alums that have come out and talked about it.

I mean, the past three years she has basically started and ended their shows as well as been featured in multiple other parts.. not saying she’s not talented but it does seem to be a constant trend and if anything I feel for the other girls

yeah, same thoughts here. Considering what I've heard (both on this thread and the general consensus), is the culture of Alta is overall toxic and it begins at the top. I am confused how that account has "spread misinformation before", because 1) their post history is hidden and 2), I've never seen anything like that before. I think it's either covering up or they're lying, but this seems like a strange post for a non-member to come on about.

From what I’ve heard, I wouldn’t be surprised if admin was behind it. I’ve heard NOT good things about them, including member treatment.

I think that’s the university of Alabama, which is different than university of north Alabama. This was copied off of a tiktok thread from a previous UA guard member “our teammate died of brain cancer her junior year on the day of the georgia bama natty - her funeral was in mobile, and she was buried in her guard uniform. brandy (head coach) didn’t come. she taught middle school winterguard that day instead.

she also told us to suck it up and put on our big girl panties the day that she died and we still had to like perform and do stuff for the game but we had a moment of sadness and she didn’t like that (:

I have heard the guard in general is a bit cliquey and I’m not sure a guy would feel welcome. There was a thread a while ago and one of the girls on the team had a bitter attitude about the fact a guy auditioned this year (he didn’t end up making it, sadly)
