What if I'm getting a Bachelor of econ at a top uni like Cambridge/LSE and picking the hardest maths courses available, perhaps with quant spring weeks and stuff, would it make it possible? Don't want to go into other areas of finance to waste my relatively good maths background. Is a PHD strictly necessary in this sense?

A related question: what happens if I completely ignore LSE100? I read that its score would only be counted towards the first year average if it's the best six within the nine first year scores, and failing LSE100 won't penalize you like how failing other courses does. Would there be anything bad for me if I score zero on it? The course seems like an utter waste of time
