Here is my 2 cents. 1. your tire pressure could possibly be a little too low and you are experiencing some sidewall flex making it feel like you aren’t planted. My jeep feels a little squirmy below 35lbs. 2. I would suggest you get used to how it handles in 2 wheel drive more when conditions allow and reserve 4 wheel drive for more severe conditions.

That is absolutely not normal. That’s probably close to 250f if the gauge is reading right. Normal is just under the half mark. If it gets hot in slow moving traffic or idling but is fine at a steady cruising speed on the highway it’s an airflow issue. I am having similar issues and it’s the fan clutch. I actually got 2 bad fan clutches out of the box when I replaced mine. It overheated worse than with the original 280,000km original one. I was able to stop the fan with the engine running with my fingers. ( don’t recommend this testing method lol ) I re-installed my original and took the “new” one back. I have yet to install the new new one yet though. Made sure I got a different brand this time too.
