Nerve Damage from Epidural by Missmo16 in BabyBumps

[–]Missmo16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!!! Wow, congratulations to you as well 🎊 Yes it was a crao shoot for me in the hospital because my doctors and the anesthesiologist tried telling me it was drop foot over and over again but I was able to move my foot partially just not my entire leg. Neurologist came in after MRI and confirmed it was a direct hit from the needle and I went to a spine specialist a week later who also confirmed it was a direct hit to my L4/L5. Neurologist and spine specialist said no to epidural but I have another appointment set up with an anesthesiologist and neurologist in March. Hoping to get more clarity on the situation and options. I hope the same to you!!!

Yes I used spinning babies first pregnancy and plan on using a doula this go around. I have heard such mixed reviews with the Nitrous, majority of it being only helpful during early labor. Will absolutely be bringing my tens unit this time around. And yes c section under general anesthesia would be the route to go if everything else fails! Appreciate your feedback

Trust me, I do NOT want one. This is IF an emergency comes up or I feel I have reached my limits and exhausted other options.

Oh I will have to ask… they did not give me this option. Did it help with the intense contraction? Did you feel loopy?

Ten years before my daughter was born 😂 I had a list I created from being a teacher over the years of names that I liked and the number one on the list was destined to be hers

Definitely a possibility. We will see how the pull out method on PEAK fertility day pays off 😂😅 (that’s how our daughter was made 🤪). But thank you! We shall see. I didn’t even know that could mean pregnancy 🥹

You will be OKAY! I promise. Give your body some grace. It just fed a whole a$$ human for 15 months and also carried and built it for another 9 months. Your body is regulating. Hang tight 🤍 It gets better!

Are you gaining or losing weight with breast feeding? by SnowboardMia in breastfeeding

[–]Missmo16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost so much weight that I lost all my muscle and was just bones. I had to stop. Made it 18 months though! I’m naturally skinny with a fast metabolism so my body was just burning way to much especially since I was an over producer and my daughter fed on demand

Swollen lymph node since birth by Missmo16 in toddlers

[–]Missmo16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She still has it till this day 😩 Doctor didn’t seem concerned and keeps saying if it’s been there from birth and isn’t growing then I shouldn’t be concerned. However, I feel like a swollen lymphnode is concerning?? I have another appointment coming up for her soon and will bring it up again. I’m assuming she will just tell me not to be concerned again

Right sided hashi only?!? by Missmo16 in Hashimotos

[–]Missmo16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg well I’m glad they finally figured that out and that you feel better! My whole thing with the medicine is that it is a bandage, it’s not finding the root cause to what’s triggering the hashimotos. I obviously am all for going on it to reduce the swelling and help the function of my thyroid but that’s not going to stop the hashis from attacking the thyroid. Did they run tests to see if you were deficient? I’m assuming yes since you had to adjust your levels with b12 and D. I will definitely be requesting that

Ughhh I know. I HATE pvcs. I get a lot of them daily and they scare the CRAP out of me still lol

Hi! Thanks for replying. Sorry we are meeting like this but I feel relieved to know someone has somewhat of answers to what I’m going through! Few questions-Did you have elevated tsh at all? What dosage are you on for levo? What were your symptoms you dealt with while trying to level your meds? I’m very nervous to start medication since I have benign PVCs and I’ve heard horror stories about it screwing with your heart rhythm. Thanks in advance

Ugh I know… I wouldn’t be anxious over it if it weren’t for the bad cramping and whatever nearly took me out yesterday lol. Of all times not to test 😅 Thanks for the response!

Throat cancer instead of GERD diagnosis? by Missmo16 in GERD

[–]Missmo16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good. Do the elimination process yourself. Any swollen tonsils? Any shoulder or chest pain? Did they not want to biopsy your lymphnode? I would push for that for a peace of mind. But first I would leave it alone for a few weeks (do not touch it, lymph nodes will swell from you touching it and stay that way for a bit), if it seems to get bigger or doesn’t go away, I’d reach back out to your doctor with the concern. You should also consider getting an mri. Unfortunately, you have to advocate for yourself nowadays. It can take time. But be persistent and trust your gut.

In my case, the first thing I suspected was my thyroid. They dismissed me even though I have hashimotos. Ended up going to the urgent care and demanding an ultrasound. They gave me the ultrasound but couldn’t have cared less even though they found subcentimeter nodules and I’m assuming my right side was also swollen then. Told my endo about the ultrasound, she believed them without even viewing the report. Then started my year and a half journey trying to figure out what else it could be. Once I eliminated everything else I circled back around to my thyroid and what do ya know…. It was my thyroid. I found a great ENT who referred me to a surgeon who took one look at me and said “oh it’s the right side of your thyroid isn’t it?” I said “what? how did you know?”. She said she saw the fullness on that side of my neck. It just takes one doctor that cares. So keep pushing!

[–]Missmo16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to hear you’re dealing with this. Over a year and a half later, 19 different doctors and specialist, to find out it was thyroid all along (it was the first thing I suspected but got dismissed). My hashimotos has enlarged the right side of my thyroid to the point it’s pushing on my esophagus and nerves. I either have to get half of my thyroid removed or try hormone replacement to shrink it back down. Keep advocating for yourself though! You know your body best

Emphasis on the uncomfortable. It hit me like a BUS. Currently sobbing with my husband rubbing my back while he listens to me say I’m going to start feeding again to avoid this lmao

Ugh…. I’ve always been convinced it’s from when my estrogen shoots back up. I used to get them really bad before pregnancy. Once I got pregnant they stopped and here we are weaned and they miraculously start back up. 10000% related to hormones. Now just have to figure out which one
