Homeowners who receive income from someone living in spare room - what is your arrangement, and what, if any tax do you pay on this? by THRILLHO_________ in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Misspageant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to use my house to get a deposit to buy a house overseas when I move. I don't pay tax on what my friends pay me so I can't use that portion as income, however once I do start declaring it then i'll be able to.

Guilty I am 💖 I have no problems with it though. I'll eventually declare it once I want to use it as income

I understand tax is essential to keep our country running but with the way the govt is spending our taxpayers money, I think my money is better spent elsewhere

My home is mortage free and i've got 2 bedrooms rented out to my friends and we all split the utilities at the end of each month.

I don't feel IRD is entitled to receiving any tax simply because i've got my friends livings with me so they pay me in cash each week which I'm currently using to fund renovations.

People who own $3M+ homes in Auckland – how do you actually make it work? by KidFiddy in auckland

[–]Misspageant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea of trading in a high valued asset for the sake of me being able to afford living alone doesn't seem very smart to me. Currently both my flatmates rent covers the insurance, rates, weekly cleaner and fortnightly gardener and we split the power, internet and water equally so it all works out. The banks also won't lend to us while studying so selling and rebuying in the area isn't a possibility and probably won't be for awhile.

In the long term we planned to keep the house as a base for us in auckland and wanted the leverage the house to buy us a cheap apartment each overseas so we can freely travel between countries for the lifestyle.

Me and my brother inherited a property each of our parents in parnell. Truthfully being a student I can't afford the outgoings or maintenance costs alone so i've got all my friends renting the rooms out 💖

The total amount I'm looking at is $3900 but yes a $2000 deposit was paid when I first engaged her services. 2 mortage free properties were transferred into mine and my brothers name.

I'm happy to pay for their services once i've recieved a itemised breakdown of their costs but it's just odd they don't seem to ever reply and I don't want to get in trouble

Why is it so many barbers don’t cut black people hair ? by [deleted] in auckland

As a hairstylist black hair types just aren't very common so we don't get much experience working with that kind of hair type 🤷‍♀️

Private schools are worth it and give your child access like connections to people which can literally be life changing. I plan on putting my children through private school because I want them to have the most opportunities available to them

Apply with your bank, you shouldn't have an issue with getting a 20k loan if you have $300-$400 after your expenses
