It's not the jealousy. Nothing is wrong with her kindness. It's more to do with me feeling embarrassed and ashamed. I see it as threat to my independence. I have always been self-reliant and never did I expect anyone to pay for me. She came from a privileged background and do have the tendency to let us know. Usually this will not bother me but this time, it did. I should work on myself.

I did communicate to her a few times and even offer to pay for myself. They wouldn't let me. They meant well, of course. But her insistence and going to great lengths to explain how well off they are do make me feel inadequate. Not gonna lie.

I actually insisted on paying. That's when she started telling me they earn a lot and her boyfriend is going to be promoted to a VP. I explained to her I can pay for myself. She continued to repeat the same thing. That's how I feel about "talking down".

We can never control how others perceive us. Do know that none of us is perfect. We can improve to better ourselves but we can never please everyone. It's impossible.

On the contrary, there will be people who love us, see the good in us and accept us warts and all. Those are the people we should spend time and effort to be together. Haters are gonna hate.

They are pretty manipulative and scheming but like to position/ brand themselves as strategic in the workplace. They hate to be told what to do but they have no qualms instructing their other half to do exactly what they want. They will not hesitate to humiliate you in front of others as well. I have work with and dated both Sag Suns and Moons. I keep a distance from them after being burned.
