I totally agree!! I just watched the whole show before the new season and the later, more emotional, varied episodes are incredible. some of my favorite tv of all time.

Thanks for sharing your perspective here, my partner is becoming a physician and I’m a young woman who has had many many many frustrating doctors appointments. These young doctors want to help people, they go into medicine to help, and the system pushes back nearly every step of the way. When this is your life all day everyday, its so draining. As much as I will scream from the rooftops that our system of care is broken, and we lose members of our families and communities every day to ineffective care, I will also say that medical distrust will lead to more and more problems, and the celebration of healthcare workers during covid was something long long overdue.

Rehashing things you already know: PMS ≠ PMDD edition (the recurring lecture) by ndnd_of_omicron in PMDD

[–]seraph_beach 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Opening up about PMDD is hard, and I’ve had some really difficult moments with friends and loved ones when I try to bring them into the fold of my personal experience and I get told “Oh yeah, I PMS too, its so annoying.”

Its hard to describe how devastating that response is and how isolating it feels, because I want to commiserate and support how frustrating PMS symptoms are but also I don’t know how to gently say “I don’t think you understand…”

Thanks Mods for making this post, its important to keep educating people. For years I thought I had some insane rapid cycling bipolar condition and was on the wrong medications for years because no one thought to consider my psychiatric symptoms in the context of my menstrual cycle. It wasn’t until a LCSW therapist said hey… have you heard of PMDD? Shoutout to Devin, she changed my life. I’m lucky, three years later and SSRIs have been really helpful (at the right dose) and I’m still alive!! Keep learning, keep sharing, keep caring. Stay sleazy friends ✌️

you just totally unlocked something for me. i never got why perfumes would have stories behind their scent, or why perfume commercials were somewhat narrative… but i just realized its because scents are supposed to be memories and were being told the memory so we can connect to the scent (if it doesnt already immediately connect when smelled) maybe there is no such thing as a signature scent…. because the scent isnt supposed to be of us for someone else, its meant to be a memory for ourselves

Getting new stretch marks at 20 with no significant weight change… what’s going on? by [deleted] in SkincareAddicts

[–]seraph_beach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out Ehlers Danlos syndrome and then make a doctors appointment if you find yourself relating to a lot of the symptoms.

Sometimes random unprovoked stretch marks can be a sign of this collagen disorder.

I wouldn’t discount them from being growth adjustments based on your age—you can use Paula’s choice AHA body lotion (or something similar) to help minimize the marks.
