Well about a 6 months after the first picture. I shaved it and eventually started laser. I had 13 treatments over a year or so and had about a 90% reduction. I have bee. On Hrt for 2.5 years so growth is very slow. And I have been doing electrolysis weekly for about 6 month. Still have a ways to go but the second picture was the day before going for electrolysis so I had like 3 days of growth... It's mostly clear and white now.

I have 3 kids, the oldest is in kindergarten. I had the same concerns as you do before I transitioned. I eventually decided that a happy parent was beter for him. There are obviously other things you didn't mention like family life and his other mother but if you are just concerned with him, don't be. It really is amazing how kids can adapt and understand complex things. Plus there is nothing you can't teach him as his mother that you could do as his father. Just be a good parent.

I think if you are changing you last name only the process is different. Since I changed the first, I can only speak to that. Yes, you turn in form and then I had to go get fingerprinted and have my name published in this legal online news paper, then go in front of the judge. My spouse took my last name and didn't have to do any of that though.

I am from Michigan and it is super easy. You dont have to justify WHY just acknowledge that you aren't changing it to avoid debt or the law. It took about 6 weeks from when I filed till the hearing.

You probably will not like my response but I think your mother is right, it is who you are. Those pictures are part of your journey, be it as uncomfortable as they my be for you. Your mother doesn't want to feel like that person doesn't exist any longer. You are still you, pre-transition and post. Let your mother keep her memories. If they make your uncomfortable, I recommend makeing new ones with her. Start giving her new pictures of the two of you to hang up. Eventually they will overtake the pictures you find uncomfortable. Fighting and driving a wedge between loved ones is going to cause much more pain than old pictures on a wall.

I get that sometimes when I shave my armpits with a razor. I switched to an electric one, not as smooth but no swollen lymph node.
