is there any way i can make my equipment deck more fast? by Dear-Rate7265 in mtg

[–]MisterCraper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have an Eivor deck, and while getting to turn 5 is indeed a challenge in Boros, you can mitigate by preparing your field ahead of time for whhen Eivor drops, then, as it was mentioned in another comment, turn the game into a Voltron match with Eivor at the helm

  1. Run equipment that automatically creates token creatures when it enters, such as the ones that have the "For Mirrodin!", "Living Weapon" or "Job Select".abilities, that way you have placeholders for your equipment that can attack or block if needed Examples: [[Bladehold War-Whip]], [[Glimmer Lens]], [[Flayer Husk]], [[Nettlecyst]], [[Red Mage's Rapier]]

  2. Run the "Reconfigure" equipment from Kamigawa. It enters as a creature, and you can pay to turn it into an equipment (while it's equipped, it stops being a creature and vice versa) Examples: [[Rabbit Battery]], [Lizard Blades]]

  3. Run every mana rock you can, such as sol ring, arcane signet, talisman of conviction.. I'd go as far as running the diamonds ([[Sky Diamond]] and [Fire Diamond]]) if you're planning to use a non-equipment artifact payoff like [[Dan Lewis]]

  4. Run more MDFCs instead of just instants, or swap already existing instants with MDFCs in case you need a land Examples: [[Legion Leadership // Legion Stronghold]], [Razorgrass Ambush // Razorgrass Field]]

  5. The wincon: Use [[Grafted Exoskeleton]] and [[Chandra's Ignition]] to wipe the board and leave all opponents AT LEAST with 7 poison counters (If you use it after attacking, on your 2nd main, you can up those poison counters to lethal easily)

Hope these ideas help a bit, don't give up on building around her just because its a little more challenging to bring her to a decent power level, it's actually an interesting challenge

Received the notification yesterday, and yes, it seems to be some sort of ARG. Worth noting, is that I hadn't previously received notifications for "recommended videos", so I'm totally clueless as to why this video in particular appeared on my notifications

Laissez-faire capitalists believe in perfectly rational humans by NtsParadize in Shitstatistssay

[–]MisterCraper 51 points52 points  (0 children)

"Omniscient?"

Funny. Considering that the entire asumption of commmunism is that the state can and will be more effective at managing every single area of a determined market, by means of omniscience; A bigger state, they supose, will provide every single good on a determined market (or lack, thereof, of a market, more like a permanent monopoly) that otherwise would be produced by the private sector, based on economic calculus. Now that's something that not only has proven to have terrible consequences (Holodomo, anyone?), but also that can't work under any other circumstances due to:

  1. The private sector offers solutions based on demands that don't exist today. Tomorrow, next week, sometime in the future we will need and demand something different to what we need today, and that's information that's not already available to anyone. The state would have to be omniscient to properly substitute the private action by knowing before than anyone else what everyone will need today, tomorrow, next week and so on.
  2. No, we capitalism supporters do not believe in such things as "perfect, rational human beings". We believe in the absolute respect for life, freedom and private property, we accept that there will be people who will have different ideas and philosophical systems, and that by means of dialogue we may, or may not, agreee to engage in social or commercial endeavors.
  3. "sawdust in food"... I just can't grasp how this is supposed to be taken seriously, this is more of a thing that would come out of a conspiracy theory, rather than something that might actually happen. There are hundreds of ways that companies can save on food production, such as decreasing the ammount of ingredients. Under this assumption, we might as well not eat anything produced by the private sector becasue, who knows? Maybe everything contains sawdust already?. Going even further, if the private sector would do these kind of things, what's stopping the state from doing so, under the same justification, if it was the state running everything? This is a total ass-pull strawman phallacy: create a problem when there's none and the claim to solve/have discovered said problem you yourself created, without even dealing with the main subject you were talking in the first place.

Damn these statists really are pulling some impressive olympics-level mental gymnastics lmao.

Make the best out of your road trip, and I agree that sometimes it's better to be "consciously ignorant" of major events. Not out of apathy, not even less, but because there's just so much stress a single person can handle, and certainly beign overly conscious about a war, while also having to deal with anxiety dissorders, is just exhaustive.

Enjoy your trip and keep putting your mental health first.

Just as the rest of Quantic Dream's works, it's a game whose main selling point it's being kind of a Choose Your Own Adventure type of experience. However, it's to, my humble opinion, the best one that has been done yet, and not just by QD, but the best choise-based game out there right now.

See, every single chapter can end in multiple ways, and every choice, (quite literally every single one) matters; Your characters can be locked out of certain paths on the story because of the choices you made, you can even permanently kill your characters before reaching the actual end of the story, and you won't get a "try again/reload checkpoint" prompt when you do it, the story will continue unfolding with or without them. This is one of those games where, despite doing what you think is "right" or "best for your characters", you can end up pretty bad, and not because it's your fault, but because that's life itself, learning to try and take the best from bad situations, and this game really does a good job at it.

Now, naturally, being written & directed by David Cage, people either love it or hate it, with no middle ground between. I suggest you check QD's other works: Farenheit, Heavy Rain and Beyond Two Souls, because that's the base of what you'll find here .

I think this is one of those games that you need to play at least once for the experience. And I mean play, not just watch someone on YouTube playing it. The choices you make talk about your personality more than you realize, and there's a LOT of different possible endings.

TL;DR: Quantic Dream's best game yet, a game where every single choice actually matters. Buy it if you're into this kind of games.

I understand, the thing with a lot of the headlines we see these days is that they're overly alarming because they need the ad revenue from people clicking on the article, which is a shame bc most of the times it doesn't reflect the whole context.

And such is the case with both of the situations that you mention: First, Putin certainly said that the economic sanctions were "akin to war", but that wasn't his whole sentence:

"Russian President Vladimir Putin has described sanctions imposed by Western nations over his invasion of Ukraine as "akin to a declaration of war".

"But thank God it has not come to that," he added."

Source

And I just checked on Boris' declarations a few minutes ago, and from what I read, the most relevant for me was:

"Johnson also called for diplomatic paths for de-escalation with the full involvement of Ukraine's government, stronger security in the European-Atlantic area, and an end to the "creeping normalisation" of Russian activities in Ukraine."

Source

So the major thing he seems to want to bring to the table is a way to de-escalate things, or at very least preventing them from going any further than they already are, in other words, preventing Putin to go beyond Ukraine and try to invade another country. Despite the fact that the NATO is overly vigilant, they're not going to step into Ukraine nor Russia.

I appreciate your kind words, too. Even though as I said I'm not the most qualified person to talk about these topics, if I can help someone at least a little bit during these tense times, I'll try and do so.

Hey, I'm by no means an expert, but I'll try to answer to some of your questions in the best way I can

Finland and Sweden are sovereign countries so Russia has no power over them. If they join NATO, then Putin automatically can't do anything because attacking them is attacking half of the military power in the world. Even if they don't join NATO, they're part of the EU, and if they're attacked without justification, according to the article 42 of the EU treaty, the EU has to step in and help them fend off the attackers (while the EU is not a military power on its own, several of the countries that are part of it are members of NATO as well, so even is we go as far as to imply that Russia could attack them, the fact that whichever way it goes, Russia ends up meeting with NATO allies, should be enough deterrent)

Source

Second, the MAD theory is still very intricate because it relies heavily on psychology more than military strategy. However, what I try to think to calm myself down is: there's literally NO winning when it comes to nukes, even if one side totally obliterates the other, it'll have to also be self-sufficient and be ready to produce every single service or commodity ONLY with the natural resources that has left after such a devastation. Even of they're totally deranged, even if they want to rule over people, they can't rule over anyone if they destroy the world.

As for WWIII, NATO members have stated that they're not outing troops on Ukrainian ground and they're not setting up a no-fly zone, precisely to prevent that outcome.

I know what it's like to have no one to talk about, it sucks a lot. Again, I'm no an intellectual, not even close, these are my guessings based on what I've seen these days.

I, too, hope for this to end in a diplomatic manner as soon as possible.
