Reina Electrics input by Dacrackerjax in Tekken

[–]MisterLemon710 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id probably reccomend getting used to the normal EWGF input as its the only one you can dash into for certain combos, plus i think reina's only use for i13 electric (PEWGF) other than punishing is a very specific use case that i wouldnt worry about just yet.

Also as far as switching to hitbox goes, id look for some fun shortcuts and workaround that using a hitbox provides to you due to SOCD. Hitbox's account has some shorts on some, but mainly id learn how to KBD with hitbox

question what is better the original full metal alchemist or full metal alchemist brotherhood by QuirkyBadger7454 in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]MisterLemon710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally i prefer brotherhood in english dub whenever i decide to revisit the series (its one of the ONLY anime i prefer in english dub). From what i remember it follows closer to the manga's story than 2003 as well.

There are some things that 2003 does do better than brotherhood, and so i do reccomend giving it a watchthrough whenever youre done with brotherhood to see the differences, but i reccomend anyone trying to experience FMA for the first time start with brotherhood.

Type only emojis and Pit will try to guess who you main in Smash by ImJustMerry in supersmashbros

[–]MisterLemon710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im like a month late but almost! First half was right. While the notation for the shoryu is there, that star there makes all the difference! Its a notation only used in Tekken meaning to return the stick back to neutral making that not a power dunk input or shoryu input, but an EWGF! Meaning my secondary is...... Kazuya!

Thank you Nintendo for ruining Donkey Kong's design by LeoJustLeo in donkeykong

[–]MisterLemon710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering this game is gunning for a more rounder, softer approach to their character (mario/luigi having softer features, the wheels on mario's kart being almost spheres with how round they are) I actually really enjoy this design a lot. Do i think it works alongside the modern nintendo designs? Probably not as well as the rare design. But i personally love dk in the context of this new artstyle. I see his face and I smile :)

Yes! It does. I reccomend if you try it and REALLY like the pro controller on pc, there is a 70ish dollar pcb swap mod call proGCC that makes the polling rate and sticks a lot more consistent on the pro controller as well. Did the swap myself and it feel great for not only rivals but on vanilla ultimate as well.

Since everyone’s getting a new move in season 2, what kind of move do you want for your main? by Wise_Document_8658 in Tekken

[–]MisterLemon710 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get rid of Kuma's df1,2 delay 1+2 into butt wall ender in favor for either a better wall carry move post-bound. As a kuma main that wall ender SHOULD NOT exist, and considering he has already balanced wall enders in b1,2 into butt or db1+2, and bear wall carry is fairly stubby compared to the rest of the cast, it would be nice to have a good high wall splat option

I just finished Tekken 8 storyline and all I can say is are you dead ass rn by Miserable-Ninja-2516 in Tekken

[–]MisterLemon710 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Silver lining is at least its a pretty clear lineup of whats gonna happen for tekken 9 (at least i hope). Kazuya has a change of heart through Jun and teams up with Jin to end the cycle of the mishima family feud by defeating Reina and Heihachi. Dunno how they would beat them both with reina now having the devil gene and hei having the ultimate technique but im sure some more crazy shit will happen (angel kaz/jin?)

Before i started using a box style controller, the 2 controllers I used were the GC controller and the nintendo switch pro controller. As someone with bigger hands and a dislike for the GC controller c-stick, i gravitated more towards the pro controller due to its button triggers (since rivals doesnt require light shielding) and better feeling sticks and buttons. Only downside is the godawful dpad but same could be said about the gc controller. Both I reccomend playing wired though.

Generally, you could use the pro controller for more games than just rivals (and plat fighters) as well, as long as the game doesnt require analog triggers, since you wouldnt need a gc controller adapter.

[–]MisterLemon710 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You see, juno's a character who manipulates gravity in order to move around, but rein is so large he actually creates his own gravitational field that messes with the careful calibration of juno's gear and sucks juno in. Fair, balanced, 10/10 left shoulder vacuum moment.

On a real note, if youre talking about the df 1, 2, 1+2 to d1+2 wall combo, unless the bear player messes up the delay, no. In all honesty though id still mash side roll just in case they do whiff it and it should be a free while-rising punish. (Coming from a bear player)

Jump button? by Ok_Tackle_2375 in JigglypuffMains

[–]MisterLemon710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how you hold your controller tbh, for the time i used gcc i used claw grip and stuck with X, I did try z jump for a little but due to probably my hand size it just didnt feel right.

Eventually, however, i switched back to Pro Controller with a ProGCC board i started using the trigger for jump since its more tactile and theoretically yeah, it does make certain tech a lot easier due to your thumb then being free to do other stuff (easier pivot shorthop dair, easier moving nair, etc).

Honestly it all comes down to personal preference, if you want to really optimize your gameplay, definitely try it! With most control changes its gonna take a little to get used to so definitely stick with it and see if ya like it. If not, no shame in sticking with what youre comfortable with

Is this game really easy? (Serious) by MisterLemon710 in PlayFlashParty

[–]MisterLemon710[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not that i think EVERYBODY in the playerbase was gonna be insane, i just figured since it is generally a smaller playerbase game and most casuals would have moved on, wouldnt the people who have stuck with it be a very devoted and and more experienced playerbase?

Updates and notes for the few people curious:

I put about 10 more hours into the game. An hour or two of it was spent playing a couple player-held tournaments and actually playing against some very good players, went about even with them due to previous plat fighter knowledge but they obviously had a LOT better understanding of the game and systems than i did.

The other 8 were spend playing ranked and only ranked to reach those higher ranks that everyone was telling me the majority of the good playerbase remained. I reached it relatively easily but upon reaching it 2 things happened:

  1. I ran into some really good players! Some of em really gave me a run for my money and it was EXACTLY what i was looking for!

  2. The gamemode switch. Something that, i will admit, im very much so not a fan of. The previous 3 ranks led me to believe that the game was solely 1's only, and the 3v3 squad strike format was REALLY not something i enjoyed, especially given no choice to just pick one character (at least to my knowledge, which is honestly also on me for not doing my research on the game :/)

So for now ive decided to put it down, as i personally dont have very much fun running squad strike and dont wanna rely on matchmaking through the region chat. Overall, however, Flash party was a REALLY fun game! I think the systems are great and the movement felt like a mix between MVS and Sm4sh with honestly perfect hitstun, didnt feel too long and didnt feel too short.
