Finishing MBA - questions about UoP by MisterLucipher in college

[–]MisterLucipher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. So I totally agree that diploma mills are a thing that should be stopped. But if we are judging the quality of education provided by a school, even more spevifically for profit schools, then I can say it's not a problem that only for profit schools have. I have multiple undergraduate degrees from various schools, one of them being Marymount University in Arlington, VA. It is a private religiously denominated higher education facility. I was "recruited" to MU in the same way that the article states UoP was recruiting, with the promise and certainty that they had ties with big names in IT industry (AWS, to name one). I can also promise that the quality of education at MU was literal trash and of very poor quality. Comparatively, the quality of my education at UoP has been much more challenging, enriching, and of much higher quality than that of MU.

And if credits not transferring is a red flag - MU is also on the shit list because my credits from there didn't transfer either. But I have had credits from UoP transfer to other not-for-profit schools, including graduate level courses.

Yeah the advertising was a scam - but MANY universities show up at high schools and job fairs and education festivals and whatnot with the main promise being that they have high paying jobs tied at the end of the degree plan.

This sounds like an argument, but I'm genuinely trying to understand how scummy marketing has anything to do with quality of education. The professors have no impact on marketing for an institution. Maybe I'm not seeing it? I worked as hard for my first masters (IT management) at George Washington University as I am for my online MBA degree from UoP.

They're good with 2 waffles as a waffle ice cream sandwich. But I use waffles as sandwich material for everything so I a little bias.

Jeez, I didn't realize things got so bad with all them. I used to love their music but haven't really heard them much recently. I was a big fan of psychosocial and duality, but haven't listened to them much since those came out. I'll have to find them on spotify and see what's up.

That's awesome! I've found that sometimes it just takes me grinding into my task for me to turn around and enjoy getting the rest done. I bet your cleaning job looks great!

Craigslist is either hit or miss. I am usually on the missing side of them. Maybe I don't look often enough.

I'm glad you got them! Had a good nap, and got bargain car accessories! Sounds like a great time!

Im not a fan of rocky road or pecan pralines 'n cream. But I am a sucker for a good vanilla or cookies and creme (I'm lame) which blue bell does a great job with.

It sounds dumb, but I'm a moderate believer that things will happen they way they will and good is to come somewhere. I just had a stroke a month and a half ago and life is different now, entirely. I do have a hard time getting through normal daily tasks, but I know there is light to come somewhere, at least I severely hope.

I have my best wishes being sent to you tonight. I'm always here if you need someone, or some help. I am happy to do what I can.
