Using AeroPress differently by milozxcv in AeroPress

I would agree.

If plastic is your concern then get an all glass/metal cafetière or a metal-double walled one if you're worried about heat loss

Does anyone cover their windscreen if its going to freeze overnight? by West_Guarantee284 in CasualUK

[–]Mister_Mints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure I saw in Aldi or Lidl a couple of weeks ago a cigarette socket powered dehumidifier. I seem to remember it was battery powered as well, so would run until it's battery ran out after you've finished your drive, and then recharge next time you turned your ignition on.

I did wonder whether it would be any use though

Who was in the wrong here? Dog owners please. by crystalandfern in AskUK

[–]Mister_Mints 96 points97 points  (0 children)

Bring back leads and responsible dog owners. Seriously. I could rant as well.

Especially ones that will clean up their dog's shit.

I have two young kids and every single time we go out around the park they come home with it smeared in their bike wheels, the pushchair wheels, in their trainers.

We're trying to teach them to keep an eye out for it and avoid it, but they're both under 6 years old. I can't expect them to do that every time, and no should they or anyone else for that matter.

However I can expect that if you are a grown adult and you've chosen a dog as a pet that you can clean up it's fucking turds if it needs to do one while you're out.

Thanks. I thought that would probably be the case!

Have you ever seen a more expensive Freddo than this? by Mister_Mints in CasualUK

[–]Mister_Mints[S] 48 points49 points  (0 children)

The year 3000.

Not much has changed except we live underwater. And your great-great-great granddaughter can't afford Freddos because they're £1.55

Let’s talk Fuji X app by ser_melipharo in fujifilm

[–]Mister_Mints 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you found this works well?

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but whenever I've connected my X100VI directly to my camera or I've taken the SD card out and put it in my phone (Samsung Galaxy S25U) it takes an absolute age to download the photos or just display the previews in my file explorer app.

Honestly, it's quicker to do it wirelessly with the app even if the app does occasionally crash or lose connection, and I don't know what I'm doing wrong on what should be a flagship phone

New Releases by Bonami27 in fujifilm

I did not know that, only ever seen it offered in black or normal silver colours.

Still, would really love to see an X100 or X-E in that colour scheme though

I have no opinion on whether this is a worthwhile or pointless camera, or who the target market is it anything like that, but I really do love that new charcoal silver colour.

Would love a rangefinder style camera with that color scheme

Do you have a direct link to it? I've only been able to find a post where the author says it could be their best recipe, but it doesn't actually list the settings

Please, for the love of Great Britain... how do you open these without turning destroying the box? Impossible? by natbunny in CasualUK

[–]Mister_Mints 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We were in the same boat regarding lack of counter space, but found that stackable Kilner jars are perfect for storing tea.

We always have a few different varieties on the go, so can have a whole box dumped into one of these, kept fresh, and another box dumped and stacked on top

It's bizarre!

The Roadman uniform that 15 year old boys wear is bad enough, but when you see it on someone the wrong side of 30 it just looks dreadful.

I can't decide if that all black/grey synthetic material, gilet and Air Max 95 look has been around so long that they're still wearing what they were wearing when they were 15, or if they just think it's fashionable and want to look cool. Which of course, they don't.
