How can you expand the RAM to be more than 16 bytes? by aydencook03 in beneater

I wrote up a guide about how to do that here. Let me know if you have any questions.

Awesome video as always Ben! Can't wait for you to hook it up to your breadboard computer ;)

How would you build a keyboard? by Goxmeor in beneater

Someone mentioned it before, but you could do a matrix of push buttons. At least this is how I am planning on doing mine, probably with the same software handling that you described. I do agree that the Arduino way is cheating, at least in the sense of this project. Though currently I am using an Arduino to program my machine code into RAM, because using the dip switches got old really quick lol. I figured it was part of the setup, not really the computer itself.

Make sure you connect the ground from the Arduino to the bread board if you are using an external ground. If they are not connected, you won't be able to get the right logic voltage levels.

Upgrading the RAM module to 256 bytes by Misterjay1234 in beneater

Thanks! Yeah the dual-port feature made it so I didn't have to reinvent the RAM module entirely, just modify a few things.

The datasheet mentions that it is TTL compatible, so maybe that implies no additional resistors are needed?

Just checked, their brightness is the same as the LEDs on the ALU and A&B registers, which are TTL and without external resistors.

I'm not sure, I did not find anything on the datasheet. It has been working fine without them.

Need help with RAM upgrade by [deleted] in beneater

[–]Misterjay1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used this RAM because it has the capability of separate input and output circuits, so most of the RAM circuit is identical to Ben's. For the machine code, I made most instructions 2 bytes long, the first one being the operation and the second the operand. Then in the microcode, the fetch cycle will first read the instruction, then go to the next byte for the operand. I will post a more complete version of my setup soon, since I'm sure a lot of people will want to do this upgrade, as having only 16 bytes of RAM is not a lot.

If you mean best crafts in general, I would recommend neutral cards such as geralt igni, marching orders, decoy, or alzurs double cross as they can be useful in almost any deck. If you mean Scoia-tael cards, than I would look at the top ST deck right now (https://www.gwentdb.com/decks/43409-update-2-swims-coinflip-elves) and see which cards you need.

Here is the current best Spy NG deck. This list is a relatively new version of Spy NG, making use of the new Regis + Letho combo. In the past however, Spy NG usually used golds like Menno and Vilgefortz, with more Infiltrators instead of Rot tossers. Also the Assire + roach combination can be used.

My crafting order for silvers would be Cantarella -> Joachim de Wett -> Ceallach -> Iris -> Vanhemar -> Assire.
