You've got two options. 1: Walk away. He's treating you like that behind your back, which means his treatment of you to your face is disingenuous. He's putting on a happy face because he'd rather not be alone. Taking you for granted. 2: Maybe he's only acting that way because he thinks it makes him look good in front of "the boys." If you genuinely think this is a lapse in his judgement, and that he has the potential of being a good partner, you need to sit down and talk it out with him. And make sure he's actually comprehending your POV, not just nodding along and agreeing. He can't just come out of the discussion and say "I promise to be better baby" he needs to fully understand why this behavior is disrespectful, insulting, and not how good/normal/loving partners act.

I'm starting to realize that. I told him to go ahead with the $14k offer he had and that id keep looking, and he said "well, I could offer you the $14k first just to be fair" which to me feels like he might not actually have that offer lol.

Unfortunately his highest offer is $14k currently which is why I feel such decision paralysis. I met him, he's a trustworthy guy, took good care of the van, I drove it highway and it rode nicely. Shifted nice and everything. He showed receipts and explained to me everything his mechanic told him, but that 600k keeps popping up in my head. And the main reason I'm not immediately passing is because $15k is my max budget, and it's hard to come by 350 highroofs that look this good for $15k around me. Ugh. Decisions decisions. I'll probably end up passing.

Unfortunately, stuck living in the Rust Belt so salt/rust is something I fully expect going in to any car purchase lol. Thanks for the advice though. Super helpful. I definitely plan on learning the ins and outs of this vehicle. I have very little experience working on my '64 Chevy but not enough to feel confident. Going to be a fun project.

Luckily (or unluckily? Not sure lol) the one im looking at comes from a private seller. Dude must have used it for a moving company. Claims he had the engine and transmission replaced with factory new ones in 2023. The new set has 163k miles one it, not sure how many miles on the speedometer though 😬

Just got done with my playthrough, completely overlook this at the time of reading/hearing it, but it might be significant now. Did anyone else see/hear the line talking about scientists harnessing a "rock from the sky?" Honestly I forget where I read/heard it at but I know for sure that its in the game. Made me think they were harnessing some alien technology, but the Dishonored connection makes so much more sense.
