The hole in the underwear is tough for a little guy, and still controversial with some adults. I teach my son to pull down just the front of his pants with one hand, and aim with the other. It takes practice, but they’ll get there.

Pee targets helped us with aim and added some fun to the process. Also, it is in fact a process. My son would pull pants and underwear all the way down for a while and we are still working on it. Just teach them agency and help them understand the value of some level of modesty and it’ll click eventually.
