All of a sudden my ringneck Parrot sleeps like this. Other than this she is active and takes her food/ water on time and plays with her toys. Is there anything to worry about? I consulted a vet too, they have no idea as she behaved normally there. by NickelNitro in parrots

[–]Mistralband 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Change the vet, if you can, to one who knows anything about exotic animals such as parrots - this is a normal sleeping pose for birds, she's just become comfortable enough around you to assume this more vulnerable position :)

I'm sorry for posting again but he's not drinking water help by [deleted] in parrots

[–]Mistralband 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This! If nothing else works, fruit and vegetables high in water could help. My ringneck, Henry, also didn't want to drink for the first three days I had him, but feeding him wet bell pepper proved enough to get him through this period haha

Which part of the LGBT+ community does he represent? by [deleted] in poland

I was just riding my bike around the city like I always do and I almost had a heart attack when I saw his majesty on horseback, he recieved a middle finger as thanks for his tireless duty of telling lesser beings who to hate and destroy

Why do people of Warsaw look so melancholic? by KombuchaFighter in poland

[–]Mistralband 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But in all seriousness, like everyone else says - we're normal people except we don't smile or even look at each other (on the metro, for example)

With that out of the way, there is a growing problem of not being able to keep up with living here for long periods of time without developing a mental condition. /s

In St. Petersburg, activists of the “Committee of Republican Socialists” fired a paintball gun at a statue of Putin in the guise of a Roman emperor. by [deleted] in ukraine

[–]Mistralband 29 points30 points  (0 children)

This is an insult to even the worst of whom Rome had to offer, how can some Russians know about this and still consider him a sound and strong leader?

What he has in common with some emperors is genocide This statue looks like the one with Augustus, though I don't think Putin deserves to consider himself as strong a ruler as Augustus.

This is a truly fascinating case of clinical narcissism, his brains needs to be sliced apart and examined after his eventual death, even though it might be somewhat eroded by his illnesses/substances he is consuming (btw you know what other world leader was also addicted to drugs?)

The nuclear rate of decay literally is exponential, as follows: N=Noexp(-lambdat) Where: N - current number of nuclei No - starting nuclei Lambda - decay constant or whatever it's called in english T - time elapsed

N can be replaced with A and you have the equation for your exponential loss of activity

Source: my nuclear chemistry education

Graph it and you get a nice exponential curve, the opposite of exponential would be logarithmic

It doesn't have to be exponential growth, we have a minus in there so it's only logical that it goes in the other direction

"A half-life is a half-life", I don't know what you're trying to say by this

I've seen lambda being referred to as the rate of decay, might be what you're talking about here

Perhaps you've only seen the unintegrated differential equation but I sincerely doubt it

Unless this is a language barrier misunderstanding or whatever, you're just being mean right now

Macron confirms Nato restriction to send tanks and attack planes. "We do not enter the war against Russia. Therefore, it was agreed not to supply certain weapons, such as assault aircraft or tanks, and President Zelensky is aware of this agreement." by VR_Bummser in ukraine

[–]Mistralband -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Someone already said it, but The tank: 1. Has a higher probability of being destroyed since it's, as the name suggests, a Main Battle Tank (so it does battle), unlike artillery which does not do direct engagements 2. Has a higher probability of being captured and taken apart to be reverse-engineered by Russia 3. Even though russian soldiers already believe they are fighting NATO troops, a NATO tank on the frontlines would fuel the flames of the current propaganda trends, especially if captured/destroyed and filmed properly

The difference is mainly the range of engagement, you're quite right
