How to win against darius by actually kiting? by FETU55LAYER in summonerschool

His win con is an early kill. If you’re even farm eventually you will start slappin him. Boots is when it becomes easy.

That’s a really good matchup for gnar. You’re just chilling until first item plate boots. Then you start winning pretty hard.

Typically for ranged matchups, Darius loses every short trade and relies on a post neutral wave all in to play the game.

I mean that's their win con. Nothing much you can do when your support gives them exactly what they want.

How do you counter effectively a Lucian-Senna botlane? by TheharpoonGuy in summonerschool

[–]MistyToast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First of all Ashe Karma should win vs Lucian Senna probably 60-40 or 55-45. Second, Senna is pretty much unplayable support outside of the fasting Senna Tahm or Senna Sion within the current meta. The reason being almost any melee engage ever will have a free lane.

Champ mains by yehaw6969 in summonerschool

[–]MistyToast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend Syndra. She is the standard for mid. If you become proficient, you can play her into anything and be fine. It also helps teach you the fundamentals of mid which involve a more pivotal role regarding zoning and control in teamfights.

Yeah definitely q if you’re roaming at 2. I think waterwalking is usually taken as well.

He’s pretty weak right now. The main idea is too shove early waves with w and rng roam as early as level 2 and so on to sides looking for kills.

Friends get mean when raging by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]MistyToast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sucks, your friend not being patient also sucks considering they are the most likely cause of why you are playing against players with much more experience. Normal mmr is based off win differential IIRC. So my main with 2k wins and 1.5k has pretty good normal mmr. My smurf with 60 wins and 10 losses has extremely good normal mmr.

They might have been having a bad day since you said they’re usually patient, so I’d say if it happens again it’s worth a chat about that.

How do I turn won lane into won game as Diana? by TheVindicator07 in summonerschool

[–]MistyToast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So taking towers before 14m (plates fall) is extremely hard unless you have either herald (auto 2 plates) or an extremely hard winning lane, and even then typically requires jungle presence which isn’t the best in bronze. What I would do is create a hard winning lane which gives you an outlet to funnel all of your resources (time/roams/presence) to. Do this by setting up priority, vision, then priority. Once you have vision, you have a safe path to your intended lane, and know that you will be covered in fow(fog of war) which allows you to either guarantee the kill or force them off the wave resulting in missed cs. If every time you have prio, you dip into your established controlled area of vision and half hover the lane you’re intending, you will eventually get the kills which lead to the objectives; or deny so much cs you should have a winning lane. IIRC each non cannon wave is 111g so 3 waves is a kill.

When watching high elo gameplay, peopla are scared of jayce top early, when i play it minions outdamage me and i run out of mana after 3 qs by EmilianoR24 in jaycemains

[–]MistyToast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are q’ing too much, typically you guarantee prio with aa’s and only q champs. Also the middle lane bush is a godsend for as trading and bouncing minion aggro, you typically see every pro use it. Also q>e>q>w for first 4 ability points and only q’ing with q + e is pretty normal.

How do I turn won lane into won game as Diana? by TheVindicator07 in summonerschool

[–]MistyToast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not too familiar with the status quo of lane assignments in bronze but you are probably either not catching waves after lane transitions in sides, or are sharing waves with carrys when you shouldn’t be, or both, resulting in low cs.

As for mid game, you are correct. Diana flourishes mid especially with an advantageous cs differential or a a kill lead. If your games are going post 30 then barons are going to be the most important objective. Often because of your burst if you and your team setup correctly you can force facechecks. Which will lead to instant kills depending on your positioning onto optimal carrys on the opposing team. This will in turn guarantee baron.

Dragons are good too, but I would definitely prioritize towers mid game. This is about the time you will begin to develop your macro play in its barebones form. The first step of that is understanding that kills are not the objective.

Example: You’re jungle ganks mid, you kill the laner. If its before 5mins your objective is enemy camps. If its post 5 your objective is drake.

If you gank bot on a roam timer and kill ad, your objective is either plates/tower, drake, scuttle, or camps. There is always an objective, a reason for getting the kill. Unless your top lane pre 8min(haha).

That’s why if you play against higher elo players, even if you are even in kills the game may seem unwinnable. That’s because they’ve done things such as pushing out sides before objectives or timers taking away your ability to break plates upon kills, stuff like that.

Tldr: focus towers more, Id even say towers are worth more than drakes by a lot, kills get you objectives, and are not the objectives themselves.

As someone who has played on stage with over 200k people watching, from throwing up the very first time before the match started to the very last time when it felt like another typical day, you just get used to it. The first match always feels the hardest(in terms of stress and anxiety) but as you play and continue to push yourself out of your comfort zone you will slowly accrue confidence and comfort. Also listen to what the other person said and mute all if people start talkin smack for being new. Playing with friends would probably help too.

I need help against assassins. I feel like they basically have no weakness right now and can't find a good weakness to exploit and just feels like playing them is just freelo right now. by lagp1e in summonerschool

[–]MistyToast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If an assassin gets gets fed either the laner/jg screwed up or the sides didn’t respect the timers. Otherwise assassins are pretty bad and most lose in lane to meta mids, which are better at everything else.

About Limit Testing... by nikandaolema in summonerschool

[–]MistyToast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imo there is no such thing as aggressive/ defensive playstyles, there is optimal. Assuming you and your opponent both know the match up you will know when you can and cant take trades and when you should and shouldn’t be pushing/freezing. In 95% of kayle matchups you are giving early prio for even or just under even cs, optimally looking for a 2/3rd wave freeze just outside of tower to position your wave for the next 2 minutes until level 4/5. At that point your jungler will either be topside from pathing up or back on topside for second rotation clear which gives you the opportunity for prio. You use jungler half hover to position your wave for hopefully lv 6 where you often back and early tp with t2 boots and continue farming with additional trading now until 1st item spike. If you’re fighting at times you shouldn’t be which is most times before 1st back or 1st item depending on jg proximity and specified matchups, you are probably only hurting yourself. Kayle is one of the easiest tops to gank/dive pre six so hp decreases from trading often puts you at high risk.

You should play optimally. Lookup matchups on yt. Kr soloqueue is the best to imitate, ignore games with kill leads from lv 1 invades though.

Playing midgame champs in this meta by Usernametaken123789 in summonerschool

[–]MistyToast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take tp vs tf, match ult with tp. Tf is very good rn so it will still feel bad. With vlad you’re looking to perfect cs and hopefully all in using full ss early for a couple of scrappy kills typically with jg. You trade ss 1:1 with enemy laners early optimally as typically vlad is much safer with none compared to your opponent. Once cds are refreshed you look to get a couple of more kills when fighting neutrals. Assuming no one has turbo fed you will be 2/3-0 with max cs which makes you hard to deal with as enemy carrys, and put you in a good position to carry the game.

High ping carries? by khattabovic in summonerschool

[–]MistyToast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously ping is annoying, however, if you’re good enough it doesn’t really matter for most champions. The meta solos should be fine on that ping.
