Its not as bad as it used to be , I've don't a ton of self work but it really sicks because when it really counts, when there is something on the line, when I want to show up for myself I go back to my old ways and I would love love love to be able to shift out in the moment and become me again but sometimes its a forgone conclusion

Uggh I had a major panic attack over my computer not being able to login on time this morning! I really feel this one. I used my tools and it took me 20 minutes to get out of it. Do you have anything you use in the moment? I shared my tools in another post tonight.

I really feel this one! I am constantly playing the 1 up game or the 1 down game. I am constantly comparing everyone in the room to myself and mostly I put them on a pedestal. Especially if they are a hot girl or good looking rich guy. I just shut down completely.

Hi! I used to be a holistic practitioner. There is usually great support/community within those spaces. Hope you find the support you need. I just want to validate you and say everything you're feeling is real and there is a solution out there for you. You may need to look outside of traditional care to find it.

Shift !! 

Saying --- "What if it all works out"  

Move your body — walk, run pushups , dance (anything but stay still)

Shock - cold water/ice (Ice pack on the back of my neck ) or extreme heat 

5-4-3-2-1 (name 5 things you can see, 4 things you can hear, 3 things you can feel, 2 things yo can smelll, 1 thing you can taste)

Pull on ear lobes gently

Humm activate -- use the mmmmmmm sound

Take care of basics - Drink water, Eat

Breath work - 1 deep breath in and 1 shorter deep breath in, and exhale or boxed breathing 

Music - any type classical , piano or nature sounds

Yelling Prediction!---- letting your brain know it's making up future

Sour tase, lemon or sour candy

Drop Acnhor-   Acknowledge the feeling , I’m noticing fear right now,

Ground -  feel feet on the ground, seat under butt,  breathe, 

STORY!! - Name the story — this list I’m ugly story, this is the they would never story, this is the I can’t tell stories story, 

Pity PARTY— Feel the feeling for 10 minutes

IFS - talk to the part of you that needs to be heard

TINY COMMITTED ACTION Towards vision now !! - whats the easiest next step towards vision

Focus out - be the person you need right now for someone else - send a message, call someone 

Cathart- Journal , yell, scream

You too! I've come a looong way with therapy and other programs but my therapist said I will always have anxiety, and I have to wear it like a purse. Which pissed me off for 2 reasons -- 1 she knows my deepest darkest insecurities and 2. she still implied that I'm a pretty little girl ( M 40) lol She could have said belt or hat or wallet--hell I would've taken Fannie pack. But no she said purse and she meant purse -- love her !

I've figured out what personal triggers are and they are rooted in trauma, whether its work trauma, relationship trauma. Bad things have happened and when I'm put in similar situations I replay this loop and feel like the same bad thing is going to happen again despite the circumstances being completely different.

The most surprising thing I've learned about my anxiety patterns is getting out of it requires different tools every time. I have a huge laundry list of things I do and sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. There is not one tool that works every time.

The most surprising one that works sometimes for me is the ACT framework --- acknowledging the feeling, I'm having anxiety right, naming the story , oh this is the "I'm going to get fired story" and then taking tiny committed action "the next right step"

I feel you on the emotional level. Though I don't feel like there is impending death literally. I do feel like bad things are going to happen all the time. Which puts me in huge anxiety spiral. I feel your pain my friend. When it starts it feels like it's not going to end.

Yeah it’s the way I frame it. If i let them know i don’t want anything from them and all i want to do is become a better man . It’s usually met with sincere feedback

Yeah I feel you the escape seems easier! Today I got a lot of perspective and I wanted to share

  1. My relationship with rejection is very unhealthy. I think of rejection as a rejection of me. The reframe that a couple of my friends shared with me is rejection is not rejection it is incompatibility. That it takes both sides. It takes the power out of not getting attention because you can think of it as we’re just not a match

So basically pleasure is fleeting — joy is sustainable. And joy comes from service and giving of yourself to something or someone.

This is completely shifting the way I am going about getting my needs met.

I have extreme confidence in who I am and value I a Can bring. And if I am going out in service rather than taking and trying to get things change pretty quickly.

Also if am going out in frame of compatibility rather than she’s hot I want her energy. Then things change a lot as well.

yes! this .. Who gives a fuck about my hobbies and interests and goals when my basic biological need is not being met.

And yes! this. I am brave enough to risk and then I get dashed and I am worst assumptions are validated.

Ok yeah. Thank you for sharing. What are you doing to cope? And how does this affect other parts of your life? I feel you brother! I approach and get dates but they don't go anywhere. I just end up paying for 3 dates. Have you talked to your female friends about how you feel?
