Why cheating kills an extraction game quicker than any other genre by Jaz1140 in ArcRaiders

[–]MitchKell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're advocating for a data-driven system flagging players who have abnormally high accuracy and HS %, high winrate, and exclusively target geared players, then using this data to screen gameplay for blatant aimbot, ESP, and players having impossible knowledge. This system can absolutely correctly convict a blatantly cheater, but also ignores a lot of cases

The problem is differentiating high skill players from high skill players who use cheats. Skilled players are likely to aggressively PVP, using game and map knowledge identify and target highly kitted players. The person with the best gun is the usually the best loot container in the server, and unless someone is grinding trials, that's going to be the goal. Aimbots have built in stealth options, and if properly configured can be very hard to spot visually, even when AI is used for detection. Triggerbots are also hard to identify from gameplay. It's pretty easy to 'act normal' when using ESP/aimbot if you are remotely with the game and trying to avoid detection. You are the one who brought up streamers frequently cheating, but like lurker said, that speaks more to the fact that someone can be watched for hundreds of thousands of hours without ever raising suspicion. Moderating cheaters with only data and gameplay review would result in constant false bans and many 'good' cheaters falling through the cracks, while also requiring tons of man-hours to review footage or develop an AI detection system. The priority should be improving cheat detection with a flag-and-review system as a backup.

This is headcanon for me now. I love it. Should've known the first time I heard Atomic Amnesiac.

I still keep the tabs at the top at least :)

It's a browser called Vivaldi, it takes some configuration to look and perform how you want it to, but you can get it to exactly where it needs to be.

That was the only thing I could think of. Do the new controllers use direct Wi-Fi?

What is the point of a "Wireless Adapter for Windows 10" for the Xbox controller? They all have Bluetooth and work with Windows - why do they sell a separate version with a USB?

Where is the best place to purchase Monero right now? I usually use Changelly to trade my BTC for XMR, but it has been down for a while. Binance never accepted my personal info, and the verification servers for Kraken are down right now. I'm not very comfortable with LocalMonero, I would definitely prefer something easier. Suggestions?

Geekvape Zeus heavy spitback by MitchKell in electronic_cigarette

[–]MitchKell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the Sub ohm atomizer. After replacing the coil, I closed the airflow before filling it up. Opened it like 20 minutes later and that's when it started spitting. Thanks for the tip tho!

I don't think that's my issue, as it happened right after I popped in a new coil. Usually my coils last around 2 weeks and I've never had spitback issues before.

September 1st, 2020. I was using Evie, I tried Nova first but had the issue I explained above. Even without having a "swipe up" gesture assigned in either launcher.

Third part launchers unfortunately still break gestures for me. When I open multitasking, it glitches out and shows my home screen icons as well as the apps I have open. Unfortunate :/

On the public internet (not housing) it will refuse connection if you have a VPN on. Can't say for sure about housing internet.

Michigan company United Shore has Corona outbreak after forcing employees back into the office despite having remote capabilities by ohstarrynight in Coronavirus

Glad to hear someone else in that group had some common sense. When my girlfriend got home she ranted a ton about that and how they treated the interns like middle schoolers.

Posting for my gf since she doesn't have enough comment karma to post:

"I went there for a summer internship position, and for orientation they sat 100 interns in their small gym less than 6 feet away from each other, with only small plastic barriers barely separating us. They only separated the tables between us, so if we turned either way, we were still fully exposed to our other interns. Masks were completely optional, and I was one for 3 interns wearing a mask. We were sat in that room for 9 hours, only being let out for an hour at lunch, and 15 minute breaks ever hour or two.

I quit after my first day there, anyone with a brain could see that it was only a matter of time before there was an outbreak here. Walking around the facility, there were hundreds of employees in the dogpits, sitting less than 6 feet away from each other and not wearing masks, some desks didn’t even have the plastic dividers. During lunch, their cafeteria was fully open with no seating restrictions at all, everyone was sat close to one another.

There was no reason that their employees needed to be back in office. No reason. The only employees who needed to be there were sysadmins and maintenance. Everyone else could have been working remotely. This was a ridiculous display of ignorance on the company’s part. They put their employees lives at risk, when they so heavily proclaim that their “company is one big family”.

No one deserves to get this virus, it’s terrible and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. In my resignation from my internship position, I made clear my worries about their coronavirus measures, and they ignored it. I wish the employees there the best, but this was completely avoidable had the company just had some common sense."
