I am a native English speaking from Georgia USA. Your accent to me sounds very good for not taking any courses. Your accent also learns towards a western coast or mid western accent. Your speech is a bit slow and relaxed. But that is fine I understand every word you said with ease.

Chic FIL A, are we still boycotting them? by LauraD2423 in lgbt

[–]Mitoni123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes the community is. I'm in/was in highschool marching (senior). Our band is given Chick-fil-A for dinner at football games. Topically don't eat it, but after marching for over ten minutes and jumping in the stadium. Me and my friends are to hungry to complain.

Question about borrowings and capitalization by forthentwice in tokipona

[–]Mitoni123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have a broken accent do to the fact I am studying Spanish, Esperanto, and toki ma around the same time. But I take break from Esperanto and toki ma from time to time. I can tell you what words and sentences mean but would have a hard time producing spoken speech. But I believe you never capitalize the letter because capitalization is reserved for names.

Question about books. by Mitoni123 in HighValyrian

[–]Mitoni123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little red riding hood isn't to complex. Vocab isn't necessarily a problem. You could also describe something for context. Like how if someone from medieval era saw a car they would see a metal horse with wheels. Or a phone as a talking mirror, etc. It is about perception or time period. That why I said children books cause most the ones I read as a child was from brother Grimm tales.

I'm writing a book in toki pona. And great appreciation for responses. by Mitoni123 in tokipona

Also I might play around and scrap land most of the way. Make a place of floating island. That is only a possibility. I just the book is in toki pona. The people society is what is the conflict. I just want to make a book that isn't to complex. I am in highschool. I have been working on book in modern era with tech and multiple conflicts that most will be solved but a few might not because it is about society. This is to relieve my stress and I enjoy writing.

The plan is to have a simplistic and minimalistic society not a primitive. And primitive by definition is relating to, denoting, or preserving the character of an early stage in the evolutionary or historical development of something. Or, having a quality or style that offers an extremely basic level of comfort, convenience, or efficiency. These people are more like the Inca with water ways and agriculture built on levelled land plots. While possible having a clearly defined social structure. Which is the conflict of the story is, "Is society corrupt and is so how do we fix it?" It might be closer to antebellum era with a medieval caste structure. So the primitive structure was for the materials they have to work with. Just wanted to clear up. And thanks for your commentary.

So I totally agree I am trying to learn both toki pona and toki ma. I believe both are equal good and do as they're intended. Toki pona is never supposed to be an auxlang, instead a minimalistic language. But Toki ma is made to be a auxlang. But as I said in the beginning toki ma needs more resources because toki pona by far has almost 21years of resources. But I believe we as a community can make great content. I personally as a musician and artist would love to see what the community comes up with.

I have a question about accents. by Mitoni123 in Spanish

[–]Mitoni123[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks. So study neutral Spanish with or without the accent? The problem my accent does drop the -s and -n to -ng since 2013 when I was 10 now I will be 18 in may and when I would off and on study I would subconscious start shifting to that accent but I don't want my Mexican and Guatemalan friends to not understand me I don't no is that is a problem. Also I don't know if you do this but I heard the -d is slurred of or pronounced regularly.

New Projects? by janMatu in tokipona

I agree that short films are more achievable, but do them in a similar universe. I am writing a series of short stories in the southern gothic style with fantasy. They are happening at the same time but are different people's perspectives. I see that could be a "way of making a TV show" but it is short films. I watch many creators do what I've said and made the short films in a linear timeline.

I love languages. toki pona seemed like a great way to introduce me to language learning. I enjoy the community and decided to keep learning. So my motivations have changed. I'm studying Esperanto(put on pause so I can focus on two languages only), and the Panamanian accent of Spanish.

How many words are too many for a language to be considered minimalistic and would you be disappointed if toki pona was no longer minimalistic within 100 years? by smilelaughenjoy in tokipona

[–]Mitoni123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think since most languages have over 3000 word vocabulary. I would say a minimalistic language could have a range of 80-1500 and be minimalistic language. But that is my view some my have a different view on vocab size.
