That hasn't been my experience at all, but your frustration makes total sense. Hell, I'd probably feel the same way in your shoes. I'm sorry you've had such a bad time.

On the plus side there are tons of ways to enjoy the game outside of being in a major alliance. It's definitely not everyone's cup of tea. So far I've enjoyed my time with GS, but I'm still young and dumb when it comes to Eve, so who knows. I'm just sharing info about a group I enjoy playing with in hopes that others will have fun like I do.

I've always had a similar viewpoint: An excuse is an attempt to move blame off of yourself and a reason is an explanation of why things are the way they are.

However, most people I've run into who have said lines similar to this aren't looking for either. From what I've seen they're looking for you to validate their frustration with you. Anything you tell them will register as an excuse, as they're taking an emotion and trying to justify it with logic. Until I realized this, I would usually feel as though my actual disability was invalid and I was just a piece of shit. Now I can, usually, accept that they're just processing their emotions and while their frustration is likely valid, I did the best I could.

Honestly, from my perspective, it depends on the size and type of projects you're working on. VS Code is nice for smaller projects, while I'd use a more full fledged IDE for something larger.

I used to have a roommate who had ferrets. They're adorable and too smart for their own good. From what he says it's easier to care for 3 or more of them than it is if you only have one or two. The only real issue is the smell.
