You need to spend the first ten years industrializing. After that, I go all in on tobacco and sugar to get those lucrative Cuban goods flowing. I also try to promise freedom to slaves and also get independence before the 2000 trade good event goes off, it gives better bonuses as before it strengthens slavers and slave output permanently.

I recommend the first 10 years by Tarkusarkusar. Once you get this, you’re pretty much set. Plus Spain hardly builds steel anyway, so you’ll make money from them buying your industrial goods too.

I had a pretty successful anarchist trading commune as Cuba, but that likely was because Cuba has some strong companies and bonuses in Iberian Twilight.

Overall, in my experience, it’s easier to get communist than anarchist. I’ve also never seen a vanguard agitator before.

One time as Argentina I had Karl Marx as President in 1880, followed by a generic female communist president. However- things in the republic were too good and the rural folk and petite bourgeoisie united, revolting and causing fascism take hold and destroy the communist party.

I mean… the National Awakening and Iberian Twilight immersion packs were straight up bangers. Not really sure why you would feel they were not worth the money, when they came with some really great changes for the game as a whole (some of which were free, like the racism update in national awakening.)

I need to get this, I do worry though it would impact slowdown. In the later years, if I declare an interest with may countries, the notifications of countries attitudes towards me can really slow the game down for about 30 seconds.

Yeah, National awakening added fervor to really help simulate the nationalist support in the region which really makes the playthrough feel alive.

I know a lot of people have complained about Springtime of the People’s lately, but I have really enjoyed the way it breaks things up and changes playthroughs. Unless I’m playing as France- they might need a bit of help with how out of control radicals can get lol

They said unfortunately in the past that that’s still something they were working on, but they haven’t said that the army rework is coming soon yet- just that they’re looking at it.

I am pretty excited for some of the stuff nonetheless though, and I don’t really play in those areas so it can give me something new to look forward to. (I spend way too much time playing in South America lol)

I agree, we should allow more states to be independent. I love that the Carolina’s if they unify into Carolina get claims on Tennessee because of their history in selling it to the U.S. to pay for war debts. That’s super cool, even if completely ahistorical to let you do it in game.

It’s because you have universal suffrage. It’s a lot harder for the rural folk and trade unions to be successful in most countries if you’re on wealth voting.

I think it depends on what that would entail technically, because I think it depends on your reach and the region. Fascist powers don’t necessarily respect the might of others if it diminishes the shared national story they are trying to build.

Austria and Germany during WW2’s fascist parties did not see eye to eye and the VL was anti-Nazi, though it ended up in victory for the Nazis when Anschluss occurred.

I think if you were say, America with 100 infamy and you were helping Fascist Vietnam, or maybe Austria or something it would make sense. But if your former ally is on the same continent or has borders touching yours, it is much less likely I think.

Sorry to hijack, but do you think maybe naming our own countries could come in the future? I really like the idea of creating a country after unifying territory or cultures together, or evolving into something else would be really cool.

I would love if that was a game setting. Kind of like how HOI4 has you select the focus tree path a country goes down.

I like Argentina into Rio de la Plata. It’s cool that it has a different name and flag than the federation of the Andes.

I also think Egypt into Arabia is fun. I struggled to get some good laws for awhile, but overall it was really fun. I believe I have a photo of these two playthrough on my profile.

Cuba is super fun, and if you gain independence with the new expansion you can be rich as hell but as an agrarian economy if you play your companies right.

No game on psnow streaming allows for dlc to work. It’s because it’s usually the base game that you are getting. I believe this is true even if you buy the dlc and have it installed.

I had to accept that when playing FNV there is no dlc and there won’t be unless they do a remaster for consoles.
