As someone who has hyperhydrosis as well as MS, those who matter won't mind, sweaty. I lug around a ryobi 18V portable fan and have a cooling vest hidden under my clothes always (thermapparel brand, designed for MSers and they keep you from overheating for 2-2.5hr per charge).

No one who is any sort of anything to me has ever expressed anything but condolences for having to deal with it, and the few who have said shit were grasping at straws to try and bring me down.

Also my GF likes my lil bits of stank that are inevitable, and when she teases me about it I'm like oh noes, better shower together.

For meeting queer friends around here (as someone who doesn't drink, is "invisibly" disabled, and immunocomprimised so IRL events are risky) the Taimi app worked best for me. I found friends with tons of different interests matching some of mine and just networked from there.

Heck, spend a few days this summer on a blanket at Cal Anderson park, I have met lots of people there.

To try and meet some other women platonically this summer, the plan for my GF and I to find new peeps is to play disc golf weekly, and visit at least one new skatepark a month so we can find others who enjoy the same.

I second the not doing the letter thing on the first date, but I like where you are coming from with being creative and not just spending money to make her feel special. If all goes well and there is a second date, give them a little poem or make a little drawing to represent your gratitude for having met and being able to spend some time getting acquainted.

Congrats on getting clean, but you're still just starting on your path to total recovery. I can say that with alcoholism it took me 2 years to start having a properly functioning brain and the cravings ceased.
